    Angry FIFA 12 problem

I have recently softmodded my Wii by following Mauifrog's guide http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html I am running CFG Loader v. 0.70 and have attached NTFS formatted usb disk and copied all of my games to that drive. It seems to be running fine and I can run games from the hdd.

On Friday I bought FIFA 12 for my son and copied it onto the hdd. The game starts and plays ok, however at some specific points in the game it will hang: If I select "Intercity Cup" from the main game menu and then exit again. The screen starts to dimm into white as it should, but then the it freezes with a buzzing sound in the speakers. When the game is run from disc it plays fine without any problems, so it is somehow related to the fact that it is run from the hdd. I have tried all sorts of things to sort it out: tried two different hard drives - one which gets power through usb and one which gets external power, tried to format the hdd as wbfs, fat32 and ntfs, tried to copy the game from the disc again, tried the different cios that were installed during the softmod.

With everything I have tried the bug is still the same: the game starts an can be played, but at certain specific points like exiting from the "Intercity Cup", it will freeze.

Does anybody have any suggestions that I can try to make this game work from the hdd ?

Right now my son is just playing the game from the disc which works just fine, but it would be so much nicer to be able to start it directly from CFG loader from the hdd.

The game is FIFA 12 (Nordic), but I think the term "(Nordic)" just refers to the fact that it is distributed in Scandinavia and has a slightly different cover. The game ID listed in CFG Loader is SI3P69.

This is the trick for Fifa 08 so maybe try the same in the game settings of the loader ----> Change alt dol and use --> Use main.dol (also try "block IOS reload").

    May work may not.....

Also try re ripping the game to the hdd...

Where do I find main.dol ? "Block IOS reaload" is already checked by default - I have also tried unchecking it wihtout observing any change.

    in the game setting....

In the old days you use to have to extract it using wii scrubber but that not the case now. You can change it using the usb loader.

    Smile

Tried to launch main.dol - same problem

Then I downgraded cfg loader from v0.70 to v0.68 and SUCCESS - Fifa 12 now runs without freezing! I then tried also the various v0.69 w/fixes and then Fifa 12 starts to freeze again. I am now running v0.68d and it runs Fifa 12! So it seems that there is some new bug or incompatability introduced in v0.69+ ?
