Ok, since nobody got anywhere with this on GBATemp I'll post it here. Basically, I changed my region, downloaded the Kirby TV Channel from the European Wii Shop, and put it on my menu. Whenever I try to open it, I get blackscreened.
Somebody said that it needed an up to date version of IOS56, but updating that did no good for myself, or the person he was attempting to help. My attempt to bump the topic fell on deaf ears.
It's probably because of the region change!
As far as I know the Kirby channel isn't availible
in the U.S, so a PAL(European) channel won't
work on a NTSC-U (U.S) Console, regardless of
region change. That's assuming you're from the
U.S of course lol.
Canada actually, and that shouldn't make any difference since I set Preloader to make the system region free if I read the thing correctly.Quote:

There are a few region free hacks in priiloader, the ones
which allow what you want are "Region Free Everything"
and "Region Free Channels". Did you enable one of these hacks?
Maybe Delete the channel and re-download after you've enabled
one of these hacks!
My apologies. Must have slipped my mind. But yeah, region free everything is enabled, region free channels doesn't exist as far as I can see, but I would assume the former would make the latter pointless.Quote:

EDIT 2: I re-downloaded the channel and once again I was treated to a BlSoD. I also took the time to download the EU exclusive "Today & Tomorrow Channel" and it works, so it's definitely not a region patching issue.
Okay, sounds like the kirby channel is going to be like Netflix!
Netflix won't work on region changed consoles! Some have
reported getting Netflix to work through a proxy on region changed
wii's! You could try that, but personally I don't think it's worth it.
