    USD loader DVD drive

I just recently softmodded my wii and I'm just now starting to get the hang of it. I burned a game with DVD+R. I know bad idea but I bought them on accident. I did use IMGburn and bitset my drive/dvd to DVD-R though. I tried using NEOgamma to play my dvd. I didn't even know I had it I just booted up configurable USB Loader and left. It rebooted to my channels and Neogamma was on there. Neogamma failed with some error. I didn't write it down. My wii did not come with 4.2. It came with 4.1. So I don't know if the drive is the issue or maybe IOS? That's why I'm asking about this new method.

Is there a USB Loader out there that will load my Lite-On USB DVD drive? It's not a USD HDD. I want to plug it in, put my game in, and play like that. I figured it would also benefit my wii's laser since I'm forced to use DVD+Rs until payday. I searched the forum for a couple of hours and I'm pretty sure it will work. It's just the only post I could find said USB Loader GX was capable. I tried it and it didn't work. Maybe I did something wrong if it works.

Your post is kind of confusing... first did you follow a guide from wiihacks? and is your "lite-on" drive a thumb drive/flash drive?

    And last.. you need "-R"

Did I come off like a jerk?? Read more here

Lite-On is a brand of DVD drive. Are they that out of style nowadays? It is USB meaning it plugs into a PC through a USB port. I followed shadowsonic's any 4.2 guide. You must have thought I was talking about putting games on my SD card. I'm trying to play burnt backup copies of my own games through a USB DVD drive plugged into my wii.

    my dvd+r has a booktype DVD-ROM. I don't know why I said bitset...

+r's work fine if you set the book type to dvd-rom. In my burning I've came to the conclusion atleast for me that sony dvd-/+ r and verbatim +/- r work very well. I've even had 80% success rate with hp -r's. I'd really like to try Taiyo-Yuden and even soem of the Ri-Data discs for backups but haven't found a resasonable price yet. Also MBI (Memorex brnaded discs) are very picky depending on your burner's firmware. I always seem to ahve no luck with them.
Also I don't know which IOS to use with the cIOS installer that comes with uloader. I'm pretty sure it's the 236 I created/patched in shadowsonics guide but I'm nervous to brick my wii. Thanks for telling me about uloader. I'll have to look up more about it. Are there any other I should know about?
