Question Bought a new game and can't use all the features because of a soft mod

My husband had someone mod are Wii. It has neogamma and a homebrew channel. I bought EA Sports 2 today and when I plug in the USB device it will not detect it. I have read that it is because it is looking for an updated OS version and I cannot update because of the mod. Not sure if it is true or what. I have also read that there is a way around it by going through some other program but this is all out of my league. I just want to workout...lol. Can anyone help a girl out

Hi kickrz, sorry, I'm a little ignorant with that game. What USB device are you referring to ?

It comes with a USB device that needs to plug into the Wii so it can sync the wireless controls.

Will updating the ISO not mess it up? I thought that was a big no no.

No, I believe you were misinformed. Updating your SM (system menu) is a no no, IOS's can be manually updated as needed. Chances are you do not have the right IOS to grant you access to the USB slots.

So I have been doing some reading because I could not get on here to get the info to update and on a few other forums people suggested a few other things for example Pimp my wii and DOP-Mii. Is there a better option? I just updated the homebrew from 1.0.3 to 1.0.8 thinking it may help my USB issue but it didn't.

I am scared to update because even with the tutorials offered there seems like so much more that goes along with it. I need an easy IOS update for dummies Which will be my best and easiest option....assuming that updating is my only issue as to why the USB is not working.

Stay away from pimp my wii....use the update all your ios guide here per the above post. The multi-mod manager is the easiest program to use to do this. Just follow the instructions and you will be fine.

I got 1 error....1 that did not complete and I tried twice
    IOS36-64-v3608 patched.wad - title (-2011)

ETA: forgot to run the patch...I did now so here we go!!!!

    And it still doesn't work
It still will not detect the USB. It said that everything was complete and there were no errors. Is there something else that could be causing my USB to not work?
