Question Just a beginner question about updating safely

ok, hello everyone, im new to homebrew and im wondering,
if I accidentally update to v4.3 firmware through a disk (while your wii is softmodded) would it brick ur wii and is there a way to update safley?
i'm just wondering because if a new game comes out and i need to update through the disk to a later firmware or something, would it be safe? i heard that if the game is from the same reigon then it's safe. i've also heard if you try to update at all ur wii is screwed.

P.s. i have a v4.1 wii and im pretty sure my cios is v249... oh ya and i dont have wi-fi so i can't and i don't ever do anything that has to do with internet
P.P.S. I'm sure there are probably are a bunch of these posts already but i couldn't really find anything in the search

also, if im not making any sense, sorry, im just kinda confused, and i'm a n00b to this stuff.

You dont have to update to play newer games, just update the cios or add appropriate ios. My wii is still 3.2. Updating through disk wont brick your wii.

doesn't cIOS mean custom IOS? why would a game require me to update my cIOS?

again sorry if i'm not making much sense.

    No NEVER update!!! NEVER.

No an IOS update won't brick your wii unless you install a stub IOS where your system menu IOS should be. Never install a stub IOS

Last question, yes if you are playing from a backup loader.
    Damn I suck!!!!

What don't you understand about the word NEVER? If you took a disc update that wouldn't be "never" taking an update would it ?

Games don't need updates from disc. Priiloader blocks updates, install the IOS or cIOS you need. Simple. Read around a bit....these questions have been asked and answered many times.

Lots of games come with updates, it does not mean you need them.

I am not going to answer that question for a 4th time, so good luck.
