Problems with the IOS 236... please help!

    Hi everyone

im kind of a newbie about the wii (although i owned one at the start when it was released)

now im about to soft-modd, or what its called.. (to be able to run games from harddrive)

Ive managed to get this far.. ive installed the HBC (homebrew channel)
    Ive also installed the hackmii-installer-thing

When i was going to install the IOS 236, i ran upon some serious problems..

just a few seconds into the installation i get this message "There was a DSI error"
and this line is followed by a lot of number-series..

    Now.. what is wrong?

My main-concern is that i followed this guide from wikidot.com, and it told me that i should get this at step 5: If your Wii is connected to the Internet, choose "Download IOS from NUS" with the D-pad, otherwise choose "Load IOS from sd card"

..now i do not get any "download IOS from NUS" or "Load IOS from sd-card" -options...

i only get the agree-option (pressing A) and also the "press 1" -option, nothing else.. then the error!

I do not have an internet-connection to the wii..
but i tried using the "offline -guide" for doing this..

you know, by using "NUS downloader" and generating the "IOS36-64-v3351.wad"

    i simply used "0000000100000024" + "v3351" to get IOS36-64-v3351.wad

Well.. as you can agree.. im stuck!! At the "DSI error" -thing

I have the european V. with 4.3 (and the latest HBC, i think 0.8?)

Please help! I would be realy greatfull!

you should have posted a short hello in the introduction section and you would have got a set of useful links.
stick to the guides provided on this site here. don't trust anyone else, don't use youtube to mod your wii.
jump in at suiting section, chapter2 i guess, just to make sure everything is correct you should start from the beginning.
    good luck

then you should ask your question in the thread to the guide you used.
you should stick to the guide step by step. when it says format the sd card do it.
hope you use a 2Gb Fat32 formated SD card. backup the stuff on it, reformat try again.

edit: and you only need that if multimodmanager doesn't start normally, if you get it run everything is fine.

    well.. then ill try..

do i have to uninstall the previous version of HBC on the wii?

i do have installed the "boot-mii" installed

in the HBC i get the option "launch boot-mii",
but when i do this the screen turns black.. and the dvd-reader on the wii starts flashing..

is this as it should be?

no need to uninstall. start from the beginning if you want to make sure you have the latest bootmii and hbc.

    Run sd:\md5summer.exe
    Click "Verify Sums", Select "ModPack-AnyWii.md5"
All check sums should verify without error (very important)

now how do i do this? when extracted the downloaded file i cant find any "md5summer.exe" ?

it should be there. drive:\extractedfolder\md5summer.exe and the other stuf, you can drag & drop the .md5 files on the md5summer.exe to check them, once you find it (can't tell you how that looks if you are on a mac)

edit: check the irc chat if you like to get live support/mini-hints how to proceed.
