    Error! (ret =-1)

I've tried every version of Wad Manager that I could find, and every combination of devices (putting the .dol on the SD - wad on USB, and so on) that I could think of. But no matter what I do; everytime I try to install a wad to my SD-NAND I get "Error! (ret = -1)".

What am I doing wrong? I got my NAND-dump from BootMii - could that be the problem?

Are you using a compatible SD card? I'm not sure whether your modding your Wii or something else here. If the former, 2gb or smaller full SD card --- Sandisk work best (no MicroSD w/adapter, nor SDHC).

I'm sorry if my question was a bit unclear! I'm trying to install a wad, onto an SD-card where I have an extracted dump of my NAND, so that I can open the wad/forwarder with SNEEK. I have no problem installing wads using ShowMiiWads, but I was curious to see if it was possible to install a wad to an emulated NAND using Wad Manager on the Wii. However; When I select "NAND Emulation - SD/SDHC", and then choose a wad on any kind of storage device (sd, sdhc or usb) I always get the "(ret =-1)"-error. I've tried searching for that specific error, but so far I have found no information on it.

As my dedicated memory-card I am using a SDHC (4gb), which so far has been working flawlessly. I have tried using "real" SD-cards aswell, but they don't seem to work either. Could it be that the NAND Emulation-installation doesn't work with my bootmii nand-dump?

Yeah, I tried it earlier today. That didn't work either, unfortunately. So far I have tried: 1.5, 1.6+, 1.7 and Wad Manager LAN.

its not your nand as i receive the same error when i chose either to load from sd or usb both (fat32).............( i never really looked into it see no point moving it from computer to sd to install it just easier with showmiiwads)

It is indeed easier to just install with showmiiwads. I was basically just curious as to why it doesn't work.

That error is "can't find file," which usually means something is missing or an SD card compatibility issue. Being that this is not in relation to softmodding but rather NAND emulation, IDK if it's simply a limitation thereof or something else. I can tell you in the "real world," wad manager and SDHC at times do not get along (though more often it's other things like BootMii etc that is so prominent with compatibility issues relating to specific card).

sorry to revive an old thread but i've only recently modded my wii(only had the wii for a month and modded it in the past week), I tried installing a couple of wads with version 1.7 with the NAND emulation enabled got the ret=-1 error. after I disabled the NAND emulation installed fine, also now whenever I start it get the error at the top of the start screen(where you get the welcome and warning disclaimer but the the program runs fine and i can install wads fine(so is there anything to be worried about?).

btw I'm using a fat32 formatted 320gb hard disk, have the NAND backup on the root.
