HELP: USB Loader -> External HDD

I've been out of the mod scene for quite a long time and I think the last time I used the Wii was probably 2nd or 3rd quarter of last year. I boxed up my Wii back in Dec of 09 for a move and just unboxed it today.

Anyways, so I've followed about 3 or 4 guides already and believe it or not, I've been doing this for the past 7 hours. Googling, searching forums and yet nothing. Time sure did fly and I'm pretty pissed about it since I keep hitting the same problem. I've tried all 3 USB Loaders (Standard, Configurable, and GX) and not one wanted to recognize my external HDD. I've formatted it to FAT32, NFTS, and WBFS through Windows with disk manager, guiformat, partition magic, WBFS, Disk utility (MAC) and yet my Wii still times out. My Wii FW is 3.2U and my External is a WD 120GB HDD. I did (at least I think I did) all the updating required like Hermes 222/223 (or whatever), Rev 19, IOS57-64-v5661.wad (whatever that is).

I'm sure the only solution is to get a different HDD, but dropping down cash isn't an option for me since I already have a spare HDD which I'm trying to use.

Thanks for the reply! My HDD is Western Digital. I'll try that Rev 17, but why go back from 19 to 17?

I'm currently trying that Rev 17, but what IOS do I use? 254?

Yup, tried it. PC says my external is still healthy. HDD looks something like this: http://www.memory4less.com/images/pr...200B015-lg.jpg Bought it back in 2004 I believe. I wonder if my cable has anything to do with it. I'm using a USB to USB 2.0 ....

Yup, Primary and Active. I'm just gonna wait till I come across a USB to USB cable, that might be my problem. Anyways, thanks for the help Cile, appreciate it.

    UPDATE

I tried uLoader and it says: ERROR: USB Device is detected as HUB!!!

So I guess the Wii detects it, but there is something still wrong....

Try using WiiFlow. I have never had any problems with it, even been using a seagate hard drive.

    Hope this helps.

Yup, tried WiiFlow as well. Doesn't go pass the first screen, that one image of the back of the Wii.

    All together I've tried:

uLoader (Says USB Device is a hub)
    USB Loader v1.1 (Timeout)
    SD/USB Loader v1.5 (*)
    Configuarable USB Loader (Timeout)
    USB Loader GX (Timeout)
WiiFlow (Can't get passed first screen)

    * = Recognizes USB Devices, but does not read WBFS Partition, asks that I create one, and then gives ret-6 error...... BUUUUUTTT..... all that still pops up even when I don't plug in the HDD. So the app seems faulty.

Also, on HBC, when I press (1), a menu comes up where I can select a device: SD, USB, 2 Gecko Slots. I select USB, hit OK. Press (1) again and it reverts back to SD. I even tried hitting BACK instead of OK and it still goes back to SD.
