I have a question about the SD Cards?

I'm not sure if this belongs in this sub-forum thing but I was wondering, I wanna do the hacks for Mario Kart Wii (no, I'm not gonna use hacking for online play I'm only using it for fun) but what SD Cards do you guys recommend using for the Wii? Also, do you have to have a usb cable in order to hack? Please help!

You don't need a usb cable. Get a 2GB scandisc SD card. Not microSD or sdhc and follow the softmod guide for your system menu. You're on your own with cheating since we don't really support it.

I have had VERY good luck with Sandisc cards both micro and full size but NEVER EVER SD HC. a lot of homebrew apps choke on them or don't work at all.

Have used: sandisk 2gb micro, sandisc 1gb micro, sandisc fullsize 1gb, sadisc full size 2gb. Kingston 1gb micro worked for everything accept Bootmii, complete and epic bootmii fail.
If i helped you please click thanks.

To clarify, after you're softmodded most things are more accepting of SD type. You can mess around after you're softmodded, and even when trying to softmod. 2GB scandiscs are not the only ones that work. I used a 512MB kodak back in the day. It's just easier to give people one mainstream one that is a sure winner than get a thousand questions like "Will this one work?"

    Thanks for the help guys!

So, you think this would be a good Sandisk card to use?

Amazon.com: SanDisk 2GB SD Memory Card (SDSDB-2048, Bulk Package): Electronics

If so, I'm definitely getting it!

I have a Scandisk SDHC 4GB and it works. But i here complains from many people about it.
Either use Scandisk 2gb or Transcend 2gb. Both are good.

P.S: if you're on a system menu less than 4.0. SD cards more than 2gb will not work...

    Yes! Thank you so much!

Okay, final question (sorry if I'm asking too much here, I'm just really confused about all this), where do I plug the SD Card in to? I have a windows vista computer with the Compaq hard drive thing so I'm not sure where it would plug in at...
