    Weird acting Wii

    Greetings!

I have a small problem here.. I recently got my friends wii, wich he had hacked. problem is, some emulators are not working (the screen just stays black), and i cannot boot into system channel or whatever the main menu is called (stays black).

    FCU and Snes9x works tho..

Any way to reset my wii to almost factory settings? but still keep the homebrew channel? or any other solutions? any help would be great!

You will have to give a little more info.

    What guide was followed?
What is the system menu version of the wii?

FYI: you should make a quick post in the introduce yourself forum before posting.

OK, do this. Download this app and place it in the apps folder on the SD card (SD:\apps\SysCheck). Go into the Homebrew Channel and run it. It will create a CSV file on the root of the SD card. Copy and paste the result here.

Wow, no IOS36 thats most likely your problem. Download this here. Run it and when asked what IOS to use select IOS249. Select the option to install IOS's and press left untill you see IOS36 (3351). Press A to install and A on all the other options. You will then be asked to get it from NUS chose to do so (you have to have internet connection for this).

Be very carefull with this program! What ever you do DO NOT UNINSTALL ANYTHING UNDER 200!!!!!!!!!

sorry if my directions are a little fuzzy but I'm not infront of my wii right now but if you read everything as your going you should be able to handle it. AGAIN DO NOT UNINSTALL ANYTHING UNDER 200!!

Download this and place it in a folder called wads (SD:\wads\IOS36-64-v3351.wad). Run dop-mii again and instead of NUS choose load from SD. If it can't find the file then place the .wad file on the root of the SD but I'm pretty sure it goes in the wads folder.

On a side note, if you can't get into the settings menu then you might want to start a thread in the bricked wii section here to get that resolved.
