Not being given option to install to ios249...

When I try to install cios to ios249, ios249 is not there, it starts with 36. While following another tutorial, i was asked to uninstall 249, and now when I reinstall from the same ios249.wad in bootmii, none of my app channels will load except HBC.

Do I need a new ios249? If so, where do I get it? I could really use the help. As it stands right now, I really can't do anything...

Use cIOS installer to install cIOS249. I think your best bet would be to follow one of the guides from this site. Choose from one of the links below.

I have run into the same issue while following ShadowSonic2's guide.

At first I did not notice that I was given an error while I was running the install of cIOS installer to install cIOS249. Once I looked at it closer here is what I saw.

    Reading IOS38-64-v3867.wad
    Error! (ret = -1)

Do I not have the correct file on my SD card? Or did I screw-up a previous step?

    Thanks.

A -1 is "can't find file" error. You are running the cIOS installer via HBC (boot.dol) and not the file you just mentioned, right? The file you mention needs to be in the root of the SD card. You'll also get that error if using MicroSD w/adapter or SDHC. Best to use 2gb or smaller full SD (the Wii-branded ones @ Wal-Mart are Sandisk and are the best).

I am using a SanDisc 2Gb SD card without adapter. Yes, I am running the cIOS installed through the HBC channel. I was following Step 5 of the guide. I selected cIOS38 installer, choose IOS36 and choose WAD install. I will double check to make sure that the file is in the WAD folder of the card.

    Thank you.

Step 5 of which guide, Shadow Sonic's or Messie's? You did see I stated the wad needs to be in the ROOT of the SD card, right? I checked at this end and as it happens the file you mention is in both the root and the /wads folder.

I am using Shadow Sonic's. I cannot find the IOS249 file on the SD card. I doubled checked the rar files I download per the guide and it was not in there as well. I guess that I need to locate that WAD file and download it.

Is the file that I am looking for named the following? IOS36-64-v3351.wad?

If so, how do I direct the loader to that file off of the SD card?

    Thank you.

It's not called IOS249. Look for a file called "IOS38-64-v3867.wad".

Okay, that is the file it is trying to load. Then that would be causing the Error! ( ret -1) that I am getting?

Thank you for such a helpful forum. Sorry to be such a newbie on this.
