IDK which guide you followed; I know Shadow Sonic's unstubs IOS 60. IOS 70 isn't stubbed, that's the IOS System Menu 4.2 runs off of. Do not "unstub" IOS 70! When you install IOS 70 patched (if not already done) remember it's install on top of, not uninstall.

Oops, I must've missed the unstubbing IOS60 part then. Ok thats for clearing that up for me. Many thanks once again.

Edit: Even with the new Loader I got, I still can't return to the Wii Menu. Maybe I need to install a different IOS? Any ideas?

Edit 2: At least Wii Sports Resort returns to the Wii Menu :P

I have asked someone to review this issue when she gets the time. Check back later to see if she offers any suggestions (I linked to this thread). We're approaching the edge of my knowledge on trouble-shooting this particular issue; her knowledge is superior to mine.

New as in different (not USB Loader GX) or version? Have you tried another version and/or Neo Gamma, WiiFlow, etc? I'm curious to see if it relates to the loader itself or immaterial.

WiiFlow, latest USB Loader GX, and the USB Configurable Loader all don't work. My testing criteria is attempting to reset, return to Wii Menu, and simply loading the games. I'll give you examples...

Wii Sports Resort (5 Stars) Reset resets the game, and Wii Menu returns it to the menu.
New Super Mario Bros. (5 Stars) Reset resets the game, and Wii Menu returns it to the menu.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (4 Stars) Reset resets the Wii, and Wii Menu crashes the game (The majority are like this).
Dragonball Z Budokai Tentaichi 3 (2 Stars) This game loads, but the Wiimote, while on, does not send the game any commands. It's like there's no Wiimote connected (most likely specific game issue, still noteworthy though).
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (1 Star) This game received a 1 star rating because it used to load, but now, no matter what setting are used, it does not load.

Like I said, the majority of the games are 4 stars. The odd thing is that when I first softmodded this wii last Sunday, everything worked flawlessly. It sucks that I can't retrace my steps because I'm pretty sure that I messed up something, even though I uninstalled any IOS's above 200 using ATD and then doing a complete reinstallation.

I do know for SSBB you'll need to update IOS 249 to Rev -17 (dual layered game and Rev -14 has broken dual layer support). On USB Loader GX you can globally set the IOS it runs off of; have you tried setting it to IOS 222 and retried this games? Also, some of these games have guides like NSMB, Sports Resort, etc. You did find and follow those guides, correct?

Did you install Priiloader by chance? If so, check to see what AUTOBOOT: and RETURN TO: are set to (should be System Menu).

I used the cIOS38_rev14-Installer that was included in the 4.2 Softmod SD Pack and that's what installed IOS 249 I believe. So yes I would be on the old rev 14. The odd thing is that SSBB works perfectly other than the menu error. Just to test, I set it to 222 and it loads, but the Wii Menu still doesn't work. Also, I did follow the NSMB and Wii Sports Resort guides here to get them to run.

Priiloader is installed and Autoboot and Return To are set to System Menu, it was the first thing I checked.

One more thing, when I clicked on Wii Menu from SSBB, the screen goes black, the Wiimote shuts off, and the HD Acess light blinks on my WD Passport for 2 seconds, then it stays lit for a few more seconds, then it blinks again for another 2. The process keeps repeating itself. Seems like the Wii hanged and it's in a loop or something?

That's a bad title to test on with Rev -14. Try all the same thing with another title.

Tested with Mario Party 8, no luck. Tested with Mario Kart, no luck. Tested with Super Mario Galaxy and it worked, then I tested with IOS 249 and it still works, so that wouldn't be a good test subject. Overall, the problem could like somewhere else, perhaps with WBFS? Althought I'd like to remind you that everything worked flawlessly after the first softmod...

Edit: Going to sleep, I'll be back on around 10:30am PST.

WOW GG. I just played Mario Kart Wii. Accidentally hit Wii Menu and obviously it froze. I shut the Wii down, and now none of my games launch off USB Loader GX. I guess I could try another loader but I'm pretty sure that's not the problem. Anyone have any idea as to what else I should try?
