Us Partitioning iPhone 3G to use as HDD

So this is my 3rd day at trying to make it work...

I cannot get the Wii to see my iphone. I have partitioned 3.52GB and formatted it to FAT32 but no luck. When I plug it in to the PC, Windows sees it right away. Has anyone else had this problem? I saw on youtube that iphones could be used but I'm not having any luck. I picked 3.52 GB just to test and see if it would work. If I can get it to work I'll add more space.

    Just in case...

    My Wii is 4.2U
    I used Bannerbomb to hack
    I also have Hermes

I installed USB Loader GX and Configurable USB Loader, neither work bc Wii can't detect HDD. I do not have any other USBs or HDDs at present. All I have is a 1GB SD card with my modding stuff on it.

Any advice or help is appreciated.

You have to format the FAT partition to WBFS using WBFS Manager, use this tutorial for help:

Even after its formatted, I think you may have to put the iPhone into DFU (Recovery) Mode. I know on iPods such as the 5th Gen iPod, iPod Nano and so on, to use them on a USB Loader they had to be in Recovery mode. Not sure if it works with the iPhone. Also note that the partition has to be the primary and active partition. The same Partitioning program that you used to partition it probably will allow you to set it as primary and active.
You could try to load from the iPhone without putting it into Recovery mode to see if it will work, but if it doesn't, here's how to enter recovery mode:
    1. Turn off your iPhone.
    2. Hold the Power button and the home button at the sametime for 10 seconds.
    3. After 10 seconds, ONLY release the power button but continue to hold the Home button.
    4. Continue to hold the Home button for about 30 - 40 seconds (or until the Apple logo comes up)
    5. Plug in and load through USB Loader.

I tried already to format using WBFS manager 3.0 and it kept giving me errors. My phone is jailbroke and I used USB Drive v1.1 that I got off of Cydia to partition I did wonder how to get it to act as the primary partition, thanks for reminding me about DFU mode.

I will test it using these instructions and post my results.
