    Netflix ISO on Wii

Hi, I'm new here, just found this website by doing a google search for my problem. There was no answer or anyone asking the same question, so here goes.

I have a 4.2u softmodded wii. I can play backed up games. I did not know netflix even had us signing up to receive disks yet and just submitted for mine, but I was on demonoid, saw the ISO, and thought I'd try that. I burned it on a verbatim dvd+r at 4x using ImgBurn. this is all I have and it's what the backed up game is on and it plays fine. I can't get the disc to play. I attempted using NeoGamma, which didn't work. I also went to the homebrew browser and downloaded something called homebrew launcher (i think). that didn't work. I do not have a USB hard drive, so that is out of the question.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

A usb thumbdrive would work fine. Format it to wbfs and you should be golden. You only need a cheap, small, usb thumbdrive.

Would I be able to just use a small one, say a 1gig, and be able to load the 22MB rar I downloaded, or would I need to go buy an 8gig to be able to store the 4.3gig iso?

Just extract the netflixwii.rar onto your desktop. You will find a 4.7g netflixwii.iso.

Setup your usb thumbdrive (1g will have more than enough room) to be used on the wii (there are tutorials here on wiihacks, basically you delete the current partition and make a new one, but don't format it. The use wbfs manager 3.0.1 to format it for the wii.

Next use wbfs manager to transfer the netflixwii.iso onto the 1g usb thumbdrive. It will compress down again automagically.

Plug the usb thumbdrive in and start up your usb loader of choice. I use Usb loader gx and it works fine.

I hope this helps, it was a pain to type out on my phone so ignore typographical errors

Thanks Breach, I'll give that a try when I find my 1gig thumbdrive and some time.

EDIT: I was able to get it working successfully, using Breach's directions. I had to use an old Ubuntu 7.10 live cd that I had to remove the existing partition and create a new unformatted one. Once I figured out that I needed to use gparted to do that, things went smoothly.

What if I have 4.0 system menu? Can I use Netflix?

Does anybody know how I can play the netflix streaming software on my wii if I have a softmoded 4.0 system menu Wii. When I load the cd it says system update in place of where it should say NETFLIX. Heeeeelp! =/

I'm in the same boat you are. I have a softmod 4.2 version and it's asking me to update. I downloaded the file from isohunt and I'll see if its any different. I don't want to "update" until I know it will be safe to.
