If you have bootmii as boot2 and a NAND backup you are 99 percent safe from bricks. Usually priiloader booting into homebrew and reinstalling original menu App file with mymenu will cure a theme brick. I would double priiloader afterwards just in case reinstalling the menu app deleted it. I can't be sure cause I always reinstalled another working theme.

Yes.................. but if you have priiloader you might not/wouldnt have to do the restore just hold rest boot into priiloader/homebrew channel/go to mymenufy and change back to a working theme or your .app

    Just to clarify the above...
Does the system menu .app file actually install using "mymenuify", or must the file converted to a .csm first?

mymenuify installs .csm and .app files. the original menu theme is a .app, and i install it using mymenuifiy, and it works just like installing a .csm

Keep in mind that if you don't have bootmii as boot2, you're pretty giving your wii an electronic version of AIDS. Themes are the easiest way to brick your wii.

yeah...u gotta make sure you have the right .app file for your wii, and make sure you get a good theme (.mym) file, use mymenu to merge them, then install.
.mym files DO NOT install with mymenuify. this will brick your wii.

i love how i have an original wii, so i have bootmii as boot2. everything is worry free for me because if i brick, i can just restore NAND (assuming of course i have a current NAND backup.
