    CMIOS idea

    Hello!

I'm new in Wii modding/hacking, but I'm reading a lot about it.

I read that Wii turns off all USB ports when loads MIOS.
For all experienced Wii hackers, has someone tried to enable USB during MIOS load? It would be useful for loading USB GameCube backups.

I'm searching information about IOS and MIOS editting. I know it could be hard, but 'll be cool if someone do it.

I think if it were possible Waninkoko would have cracked it already.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

USB loading in Gamecube mode is a dream and probably will not happen. I say probably because look at where we are today. The real key would be loading mIOS but not switiching into gamecube mode, its cuts off a data transfer on one of the processors. The only fix is the DVD drive emulation with hardware, as in the WODE or flatmii.

Saying "Oh, they disable USB, reverse it." is easier said than done, especially if you have no idea how it works on the machine side.

USB access was not disabled in GameCube mode. There was never a USB access with the GameCube, and since the Wii goes into GameCube mode, there is still no USB access.

well, I'm sure they don't disable USB. But I've seen a lot of extreme hacking. With hard working, I think there's possible to do that, mixing IOS rutines in cMIOS

When your Wii goes into gamecube mode, it turns into a gamecube. None of the Wii functions are programed into the GameCube, that includes Wiimotes, SD card slot, USB Slots. I wouldn't call it impossible because the Wii plays GC games and has a USB slot, but even Waninkoko won't go there.

I'm not trying to be annoying... I'm new in Wii hacking, but have a LOT of experience in programming and hw stuffs.
I'm only trying to give a solution to people...

But, if Waninkoko hasn't attacked that code, I think it's better not to try it.
