So if i have v4 installed, and run most games on USB Loader GX with the standard/boot IOS at 222 perfectly, what would be the advantages of upgrading to v5?
Give me a thanks if anything i said was useful or you found it remotely intuitive

So far I haven't seen any real advantage. Actually I can't get any games that require 223 (mainly the Rock Bands) from my usb loader, it just freezes. Everything else seemed to work fine but I'm going back to v4 until something better comes out.

Nothing really. At least nothing I can see at first glance. But from what I'm reading its not as stable as it should be. I've had no problems however...

ok, if you didn't see my guide, then this is how it should be -

    IOS202 - use IOS60 as base - for MPlayerCE
IOS222 - use the only option here, IOS38 - for usb loaders and such
IOS223 - use IOS37 as base - for guitar hero games and microphone games
IOS224 - use IOS57 as base - haven't seen any reports on what this does

That's how I have mine installed right now, it may change it in the future. All the games that I used boot with IOS222 (v4) I now set to boot with IOS223 (v5). The base of IOS37 is what got the GH5 and Band Hero working, and also the microphone games. If your loader is capable, you can set it to use IOS223 by default for every game, just so you don't have to set every game individually, but Waninkoko's cIOS38 rev17 does offer NSMB compatibility.

I haven't tried the IOS57 base with anything yet so cannot comment on what it is compatible with. I know that the current usb loaders do not support IOS224, well maybe uLoader does since it's a Hermes installer, but I don't use that loader.

    EDIT -
I just went and installed IOS223 with a base of IOS57 and GH5 does not boot, Configurable USB Loader freezes on the 223 mload..., so IOS57 is not compatible with that. Back to IOS37 as a base for IOS223.
Are you saying that you got your usb loader to run RB and GH on 223 (ios37) ? cause I couldn't get it to work with wiiflow I haven't tried other loader yet.

I had IOS223 installed with the IOS37 base, then I changed IOS223 to have the IOS57 base, now upon reinstalling the IOS223 with a base of IOS37 I cannot get anything to work with IOS223. May I recommend to use any title deleter to delete IOS223 and then reinstall IOS223 with a base of IOS37. I have tried but I cant get any title deleter to work, I think my IOS36 is screwed up. I also tried to overwrite IOS223 with the hermes IOS223 from installer v4, then reinstall IOS223 v5, still don't work.

    Us

Typical Wii modding update. Looks cool on paper but always seems to have some issue where people go back to the working version they had before. Ya know? Ill stay w/ v4 for now.

but it always takes a few brave souls to try stuff out. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have modding to begin with.

    ???

Since when do u refer to a SD card as a flash drive? I assumed u did it thru a flash drive (like a pen drive etc...) like u posted. Why wouldn't I?

If I misunderstood then it's just that... a misunderstanding... What was the reason 4 that post?
