Look at the error index (link in my sig)

and to play backups through the disc channel you need CIOScorp and i do not reconmend that becasue it causes problems with other hacks/mods...

Could be a D3-2 drive issue. Check your Wii Serial Number against this site Wii Drive Chip Database
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

GC2-D3 is fine and can be modded with the right modchip. Error 1101 is a generic read error that can point towards a bad burn, bad media and in some cases the unmoddable D3-2 drive type which you say you don't have, so it can be elimintaed.

you can do 2 different things...

like Tealc said "get your self the right mod chip" and go from there....

or you can USB load everything, that is what i do because it is better in my opinion... and also you dont have to tear open the wii and install a chip... (unless you are familiar with doing that)

Perhaps you need a new cIOS?
The latest from Waninkoko is Rev17. You can download it here

I don't know if the newer cIOS will help as I am new to Wii hacking.

No need to get a modchip.

Generic disc read error can mean a lot of things. Bad media, bad burn, burnt too fast, worn laser, badly aligned laser, disc not burnt properly, poorly installed cIOS.

Nothing will 'come out' to solve it, as the problem is not with your drive type. Your drive will play backups, it's just that you have a problem with your setup.
