Softmodding with menu 4.3E

Hello all,

I recently acquired a wii and without being aware of how "new" the new menu version is, I upgraded it to 4.3E. I have been trying ever since to perform a softmod following the numerous guides available without much success. The information I can find about the 4.3 version is scarce and wanted to find out if any of you guys have attempted something similar.

1) I successfully managed to install homebrew following instructions written for v 4.2

2) I successfully performed the trucha bug restore by downgrading and then restoring ios15

... and i am now stuck when attempting to delete/uninstall (using Any title deleter, all versions) the ios222,ios223,ios249 and ios250. It keeps giving me the ret -1017 error and ret -106 saying that it cannot delete the specified ios.

If any of you have experimented with this version and had more successful result, I would greatly appreciate any help ...

Another one with 4.3? At time of writing this 4.3 doesn't exist so I have no idea what you've updated to.

Do you mean 3.4 perhaps? Or 4.2? It should say when you enter Wii settings.

It does say 4.3E, I am positive about that maybe it's a European version (only) for the time. Have seen some posts around with other people talking about a 4.3 but no such thing as a guide ...

Well I don't understand how you can have 4.3, unless Nintendo are secretly trying out a few people before they go for general release. When they released 4.2 everyone got wind of it very quickly and homebrew was installed and working within hours and the full hacking guide went up shortly afterwards.

There isn't any indication that I can find that 4.3 is a reality, apart from your insistence that you are running it.

There IS a 4.3e I also have it.

You can continue being sarcastic about it with no result, or the two of you can go about hacking the firmware yourselves. Until it becomes known to the majority of the community, there are no solutions at this time.

And I'm not being sarcastic here, I'm quite serious, a ss of your 4.3 settings window would do well to benefit the community, giving actual evidence of it's existence and potential release.

Post proof and then we'll start to believe the ravings of 1 guy with 1 post and another guy with 2 posts over the whole Wii community.

If it does say 4.3 then that 'would' be interesting.

Hi Tealc,

I just got a Wii and i connected it to my wifi and it updated and the version it shows in the settings screen is 4.3E.

I live in the UK, im assuming there is no soft mod for 4.3E yet?

Another one who reckons 4.3E. Seems too many to be a mistake or coincidence.

Could you take a picture of this screen and post it here please?

Thought: Might try updating my SNEEK v0.2 install via internet and see what comes out, just for fun and giggles.
