I can confirm, that after deleting Smash Bros and reinstalling it again using WiiFlow 222 instead of 249, the game runs fine (I got to the first cutscene and watched it with no problems at least).

However, I still do not use WiiFlow 222. I now only use it to install dual layer games. I still use the standard WiiFlow 249 version, but when running Smash Bros Brawl I change the IOS to 222 (which I only had to do once, it remembers the IOS I choose for each game automatically). Games run using IOS249 at default, but if you have Hermes 222/223 installed you can run them at 222 using the 249 channel which is handy, you don't want two WiiFlow channels now do you? (I keep the 222 one on the far right on the fourth page along with the HBC).

But yeah, install the game using the 222 channel and you'll be fine.

    first post, hi people.
I'd just like to add after having issues with ssbb also I installed Hermes 222, removed my old copy of ssbb from my hdd and re-wrote/burnt it in usb loader gx with hermes 222 set as the default.
All works 100% now, have played through several levels.
so cheers ric g for the post. I didnt require wiiflow as I think usb gx was sorted once the hermes 222 was applied. I did notice it took a lot longer to copy, backing up the fact it actually did copy the dual layers this time round.
Played a handful of other games with the now 222 default, no issues at all

@SeanKent- Yeah, you should install the game using the WiiFlow (222 version), your game will work flawlessly on WiiFlow and if your USB Loader has options set the IOS to 222 when you launch the game. As I said above I ise CFG USB Loader and set the IOS to 222 to play this game and I have played with no problems at all. Looks like WiiFlow does a good job installing the game to the HDD. I've tried GX and CFG to install but it was a no go, I guess it is because the Smash Bros is a Dual Layer DVD.
