USB Loader GX Issues - Freezing

I'm trying to figure out what is causing this in my games - I have updated cios 38 to 3.14 btw - but my games suddenly freeze, yet the wii responds partly in that it will fade to black whenever I press the power button on the wiimote. It does not however, shut off, but hangs in limbo until I turn it off manually. So far COD:Reflex works flawlessly, as does a few other games, but Madden 10, Monster Mayhem (freezes the most), and Scene It have all frozen after some time into gameplay.

Anyone know what is causing this? Is it an ios issue? Or is my HDD fragmented or something?

    r14, yeah sorry

I'm using sys 4.1 as well.

oh, and a Seagate 1Tb that's about 1/2 wbfs and 1/2 ntfs. I just started using usb, and still have cioscorp installed. Is there any ios's from cioscorp that might be interfering? I swear it's like the game goes to a point where it needs a file, and instantly freezes, as if it can't find the file. But I would think it would come up with a DDE, wouldn't it?

    similar problem

I'm having a similar problem. I did everything according to this guide and my games (currently only Super Mario Galaxy and NSMB) freeze in USB Loader GX.

    I'm on 4.2U using a WD MyBook 300gb HDD
I don't know much about how HomeBrew works but the file path for my usbloader GX reads "/apps/USB Loadger GX r825/b
when the freeze occurs I can hit the home button and select restart or the wii menu but neither of these do anything and I have to manually shut off the wii

    help please, total n00b

yep, it's primary... it appears that it's doing it in the NTFS partition too, as I was watching a movie through MplayerCE and it froze...

though Mplayer is a little buggy sometimes...

Angry Games are all of a sudden freezing randomly in different parts of the game! Was worki

I can see others are having similar problems! I have tried everything! My neighbor has the exact same set up and exact same games at his house so he took my hard drive and played my games and got freezing issues! I took his hard drive and played his games no with no problems?? It is a WD 500g I Checked hard drive settings, wbfs manager can see all the games, and everything looks good! This means some how my games have become corrupt?? Well I did a system update anyways to system 4.2 after virgin zing my wii. Everything works the same and still has the same problem. What is going on??

I think that when the hdd slows down and attempts to go into sleep mode and we try and access it to play a game it currupts the game iso. Ive had this often on my iomega 250gb usb drive. If you remove the games and reinstall them back onto the drive they should work. Well they do for me anyway, untill usb loader freezes again....

hrmmm, sleep mode makes a LOT of sense... though it probably also means that the data is corrupted, which means reinstalling, if and when a solution is found... I found a few sites in which ppl were using ext hdds for sat boxes, etc. I'm going to try the advice given to them and see if it helps.

The advice, btw, was to use the manufacturer's hdd utility to disable sleep/hibernation mode (which I figure is a small firmware/rom flash).

I'll keep everyone informed if I figure out something...

that is what the advise here on different threads is, to get the utility and flash it not to go to sleep... but beware some drives do not have a user-end utility that can change this.... let us know...
