    Converting NTSC to PAL

    Guys,

I have a friend whose kids updated to 4.2e online and he has since put in a Drivekey. If I am correct 4.2e blocks out of region games even with a Drivekey?

    My questions are

    1. Can he convert NTSC images to PAL and play this way and if so what program to use?

    2. Is there a program to open an wii image to verify wether it is NTSC or PAL?

    Cheers and Happy xmas

PS...is there a way of downgrading from 4.2e to 4.1e?

1 - Yes, use Regionfrii to patch the game from NTSC to PAL and re-burn to disc.

2 - Regionfrii displays region information in the top right of the screen

    Download it HERE http://www.gbatemp.net/downloads/software/syn-rf1.2.rar

I know I am only and there is probably easier ways but this is what I did.

I loaded the ISO in Wiiscrubber to extract the main.dol
opened the main dol with Generic Wii Patcher then went down to video mode changer, NTSC2PAL. Saved file, then went back to Wiiscrubber and replaced main.dol with new saved dol.

Tried to load game with Neogamma r8, got green screen. Loaded game again in Neogamma, went to Region settings changed Video Patching to all. Loaded game and played beautifully. I have the 3.4E Wii.

As I said Im VERY new to all this.

Game I tried and talking about is Madagaskar Kartz

If you have to change the video settings in NGamma the patching failed.

If it was successful, the game would have booted automatically.

Sorry fot hijacking this thread, but I have put a few iso's on a HD for a friend of mine, but his problem is all iso's will play regardless of PAL or NTSC, but the NTSC are in black or white, he is using an old crt TV, I am guessing that this is his problem, but am woundering if there is a way I can overcome this problem for him.

    Thanks.

Patch the game using Generic Wii Patcher or Regionfrii.

Alternatively, download NTSC version, or use another TV with NTSC / PAL autoswitching capability.

Thanks for that, I have tried regionfrii and I think it has done something, however its still showing up as an NTSC game in the WBFS manager, but its now showing up as a pal game in regionfrii, is this right?

The same thing happens with Wii Scrubber after patching with Regionfrii so that's okay, the game should play in the mode it is patched to.
