    Ca Help Please

    Hi everybody.

I need some help please, I am a total newbie, I succesfully softmoded my wii using the tutorial 3.1 - 4 to be able to play new super mario, no problems at all...

    I have a wii ver. 4.1u, a modchip(do not know which one)...

Before softmod, everything was ok, all of my 8 years old daughter's burned games were playing ok, we have this wii for more than 1 year, playing burned games no problem, until new mario...

Softmodding went ok, until every game including new mario, started to give us a read disc error, this error is happening after playing 10-15 minutes...

I did the softmodding like 3 times and the problem is still the same.

I have burned in different discs verbatin -r, tdk -r and sony -r, before I used -r or +r and never have a problem...

    Please help me.

    Thanks everybody

The softmod guide should not have effected you disk channel in any way. I can not be sure, but will bet that you do not have a modchip, but cIOSCORP instead, and perhaps you where scammed by someone. You did update to 4.1 following the guide, yes? Most likely you replaced cios60 with the ios60patched from the guide, which would break cIOSCORP.

Test #1, load the same disks in neogamma, do they work?
    probably
Test #2 Run signcheck, download it HERE. Extract the file to sd:\apps\signcheck
Run the app in HBC, push reset many many many times unit it exits. Then post the cvs file from your sd-card here.

Do your original games work from the disk channel?

I don't see any cIOSCORP in that, but if could have been removed with a system update. Did you update the wii during your softmod? If your original games are working, I think that everything i working as it should, and perhaps you don't have a chip. If the original games to not play, then there may be an issue.

NSMB has an issue of error after 10 min. There is a fix for this. If you did have a modchip, it would need the firmware updated.

What about older titles? Do they play from neogamma?

There is also the possibility that your dvd drive is wearing out. You could try to lay the wii flat, see it that changes anything.

    Try original games.
Read this: [GUIDE] New Super Mario Bros.
Try loading from Neogamma, and also look into usb loading.
If you have a chip, find out which one. Some will have a config you can enter by pushing eject multiple times without a disk in at boot, then a gamecube game appears in the disk channel.

Yes, my originals play with no problems.

''and perhaps you don't have a chip'' Do you mean I do not have a modchip on my wii?

Yes older titles played from neogama, but after a couple of minutes, I got the disc read error...

Once again, this behaviour started just after softmodding via New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii... Never have any problems for the last year playing copies on dvd -r or +r, more than 100 games in my collection...

I just bought a pack of 25 verbatim -r printables, to check if the media was the problem, burnt a Hannah Montanna that is giving my daughter a read disc error after a couple of minutes, things go worse with verbatim -r, dvd rom is making a clicking noise and does not read disc at all...

    Any other suggestions, Please

This could be likely, try to load from usb. It is fare better than disk loading.

And yes, my first assumption of anyone who's modchip stops working after a system update is that they may not have one. It is possible to install cIOSCORP onto a wii, which enables backups to play from the disk channel. This makes it appear as chipped, but a system update can remove needed files and break it.

The mod chip is independent of the system menu, and usually an update has no effect, except for 4.2 which removes region free for now on chips.

If you are still able to load any backups from the disk channel, then you have a chip. But if they only load from neogamma, same game, that does not sound like a chip. Clicking in the dvd just sounds bad, try usb.

I am in touch with the guy that modded the wii, I will see him tomorrow, then I will question him about the modchip, as per your advice seems like he never installed one...
Regarding the noise, only happens with the verbatim -r discs, any suggestions? also why the other games work a couple of minutes then disc read error messages appears...New mario does it after 10 minutes, any idea why the other games are doing the same? how do I fix this?

    Thanks
