hi i just got a brand new wii 3.4u can some one point me in the rigth direction what do i need to do to softmod i have seen many tutorials but all have something diferent thanks

see thats why we have a search button. If you would have did what you were suppose to do, you would know that you should have searched and found that the recommended tutorial by dogeggs 3.1-4.1. And you would know that this is the wrong section.

What are you trying to accomplish? At this point, 4.2 is pretty much figured out.

So here's what I'd recommend:

1. Update the wii through the system menu. Will take you to 4.2.
2. Bannerbomb to launch the hackmii installer 1.0.6.
3. Install hbc, dvdx, bootmii as boot2 and ios
4. Trucha bug restorer 1.1 to downgrade ios15, patch ios36, create a cios36 as ios232, upgrade ios15.
5. Install waninkoko's cios38rev14 as ios249.
6. Install hermes v4 cios38+60 as ios202 and ios222, and cios38+37 as ios223.
7. Use wad manager to install usbloadergx forwarder channel.
8. Set up your usb hard drive on your computer with wbfs manager.

What ever you do, don't update to system menu 4.2. It is recommended that you stay at 4.1/4.0. You risk bricking your wii if you update to 4.2. Look up dogeggs 3.1-4.1 any wii softmodtutorial if you wanna softmod your wii properly. If you are on 4.2 already, then use messie's tutorial instead.
