question about 3.4u to 4.1u

i bought a wii LU66 i have already moded it out with a softmod homebrew with the neogamma r7 and config loader for my backup launcher. my question is. Is it worth upgrading to 4.1u or just leave it as it is. as i have already ran in to a few games that wont load.(AMF bowling and will sports resort) Will upgrading to 4.1u be worth it if these games will play.

All of these game related problems where they give you a black screen can be solved by installing the needed IOS via Wad Manager. The only drawback of you being on 3.4 and not 4.X is that you cannot install Preloader which will give you some brick protection. You won't also be able to launch wiiware and virtual consoles off an SD Card (though that isn't something valueable unless you play lots of wiiware and VC)

If you plan on upgrading, do this safely by following this guide as doing an official update will take you to 4.2 and remove your homebrew.

well its not that they dont run i load resort it gose back to the wiimenu and amf i get black screen. i think the only iso i have installed is 249 hermis 222/223 still gives black screen on both them but its no biggy i own the real game anyways

there is a big thread about Wii sports Resort, it requires some special attention to get it working.

AMF sounds like a missing IOS, as ShadowSonic2 said above.

k one more question if i upgrade to 4.1 will i have to reinstall all my isos and homebrew/launcher stuff also will i need to uninstall all what i did to it.

If you use Waninkoko's Firmware Updater and the tutorial I linked you to in my first post. You'd be able to go to 4.1 and keep all of your homebrew and IOS.

i was told due to lu64+ i cant install iso60 it would brick my wii or is the patched version safe to install.

Really? As for as I know, LU64s can install 4.0 updates and since those updates need IOS60 that means they can.

Just did exactly that on an lu66 and it worked flawlessly
