Why do you feel you need 4.2?

There's also a 4.2 Waninkoko Firmware updater around here somewhere.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Hi thanks for the reply. Been told from different people that i need the update for some of the newer games that will be coming out later in the year, and then some say that i do no need to.

Games don't work off the System Menu revision, or at least they don't do it currently. 4.2, certainly at the moment, offers nothing to anyone, apart from the chance to brick their Wii and take away their bootmii/boot2. Nintendo may insist on 4.2 at some stage in the future but this will be quite some time before this happens. It's usually several months before we even see the latest System Menu appears on discs, for example even though 4.1 has been around since early July only one game has that update on it.

My advice is to leave 4.2 until it's required. Even though 4.2 is now hackable, and we have some great tutorials, it's still very early days.
