lmao@these replies. Guys, it is perfectly fine to update to 4.2 My Wii was updated to 4.2 and I run everything just fine. Homebrew, ISO games from my external HDD, etc.

Just get the Bannerbomb hack and put that on your SD card. Click on the bottom left corner of your main Wii menu with the channels. Click the SD icon and run bannerbomb. Put the homebrew channel and bootmii on the Wii. Now run your other crap like Trucha and in some cases you will need to use AnyTitleDeleter to remove ios249 from your system. Removing this will allow you to run cios rev14 or whichever you want. This allows you run your ISO games. Its really simple guys.

So please don't update, the staff here have enough to deal with already without a flood of 'oh noes my wii is upside down/not loading backups/bricked' stories. Thanks ......If you are concerned about a member of your family/friend updating by accident then engage the parental lock function and it will make it difficult
    That reminds me ^^

i got my wii to 4.2 last week and my HBC didnt get deleted and my wii wasnt bricked and i had all my Data still!!

    Hello,
My Wii is still on 4.0E full hacked. I do not know if it's best to update to 4.2E as there is one game i love to play on my Wii called "Wii Sports Resort"
Nintendo as put a bug fix in 4.2E for the game. As the game was having problems with the intro video or something.. If you play on the game it will keep playing the intro video and not get into the game.
So Nintendo as put a bug fix in 4.2 for it.

What do you say is best? As my Wii is working fine and i like it how it is. It can play games from USB HD drive and HBC Channel.
But it's the only game what i know i will be having problems with and some more games what works with the new Wii MotionPlus.

Are they any way on bypassing this and to get the game to work?
And can some one tell me if they have got the game working on 4.0E.. As i have not got the game yet to full test.

    Thank you.

While WSR did have a video fix implemented in 4.1 (not 4.2), it doesn't apply to your situation. For that go here and follow the links regarding your game.

In the future don't forget to use the search feature. Many common issues you might run into can be found very quickly using the newly implemented Live Search feature.

And welcome to the site. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Edit: Just noticed your signup date. Long time lurker I see, you should know how to fix up WSR by now.

    general help?

    Any support would be appreciated.

I'm looking for general help, so if anyone could please point me in the right direction.

Not sure what exactly I did, but 4.1U softmod no longer recognized my sdhc or my western digital usb drive with 2 partitions:

1st partition was a replica of the sdhc files, and
    2nd partition had usb games.

I ran a few of the following and used network installation when possible:
    9911-cIOSXrev19-Installer
    8367-Hermes_cIOS_222_rev4_installer
    11435-cios_mload_source_install_5.1
    homebrew_browser_v0.3.8
    hermes cIOS_Installer
