I love that, everyone says accidentally updated to 4.2

4.2 broke cIOS and Homebrew. If you are softmodding you'll need to re-install your cIOS. If not and you are hardmodding then 4.2 broke your modchip functions.

    Hard luck.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

I have a Softmodded 3.2e which I've just updated using Waninkoko's 4.1 updater and a patched Cios60. Homebrew channel upside down, but I can fix that by re-installing HBC etc. Will keep away from 4.2 (even waninkoko's) updates for now, but I suspect my Cios configs are a little messy with all the part updates and custom ios I've been trying out.

Is there a (idiot) user friendly CIOS tool which shows you 'names' of said Cios and such? If not that's not a problem, I'll make the time to double check on them if I don't know them but a useful app if it's handy would be a help for me clearing it up a little.

Update - This guide is perfect:
    how-remove-softmods-make-your-wii-virgin
(allows me to clean this up considerably and explains what I need to do next)

Sorry, I've soft modded using twilight hack back on 3.2e and then bannerbomb in 3.4e. I'm upto 4.1 but 4.2 seems to be mainly a shop and 'removing homebrew' update. Don't know about chip mods I'm afraid.
