Thread: Don't update to 4.2!!!

My daughter was just playing Wii this morning & accidently upgraded my system to version 4.2 & now nothing works When i tried to play my backups just a black screen pops up doesn't matter which program i try & use to open. STICK To Version 4.1 !!! Now i have a big mess to fix does can someone let me know if i have to downgrade again ? OR how can i fix this problem Much Help is appreciated

There isnt even a reason to be on 4.1. On 4.1 no wii themes work. But on 4.0, my wii is smexy and sleek.

I did a softmod on my new wii. Works good. I have a DSL to USB adapter. Why bother to go online and register? It's probably gonna be trouble if I connect with a hacked wii & they have the serial number, name address, phone#, etc. Does anyone know if it does the 4.2 update automatically? Maybe I should return the adapter. I got all of my games from a bit torrent program anyway...

I am still new to Wii hacking about 3 months, but we bought the wii set up second hand it is on version 3.8e I think and that is where it is staying. Luckily I pick things up fast and had a good teacher who knows his way around the wii like the back of his hand so I was very lucky.

Any updates I needed to do I have done via a the wad manager (currently only being the shop) and perhaps in the future iplayer channel when it is fixed.

I always take the view if it works and does exactly what you want it to why mess around with things.

Neo / Wii Back and USB loader GX all working great. So i will not be messing.

hi guys how do u find what verion its running as i have a wii to chip and if its on 4.2 i dont want mess it up as its not mine.

Go into the system options and look at the top right corner of the screen to see your firm version.

Man I wish I saw this thread before updating.

I updated the Wii Shopping Channel and I lost the Home Brew Channel and the backup channels don't work. In addition when I tried to reinstall the mods the Wii won't read my memory card.

Can anyone suggest a thread to help fix this?
