Lightbulb Niggling issue with Hermes 222/223

All but 2 of my games load fine from USB HDD, using cIOS 249.

I've installed Hermes 222/223 v4 in an effort to get the 2 non-working games going, but have found that none of the working games work if I use 222 or 223 instead of 249.

I installed Hermes cIOS as instructed - using 249, with 222 set to 38 merged with 37, and 223 set to 38 merged with 60.

I've also installed a couple of additional IOSes 53,55,56 etc. and have verified using Dop-IOS that all my IOSes are (I think) latest versions.

My default loader is GX but I've also tried CFG Loader, with the same results.

Is it possible my 222/223 install is somehow how corrupt ? When I installed it it all went OK with no error messages or anything. How likely is it that something went wrong in the install ?

Or should I try different merges ?

    Your help appreciated
    Thanks

    *update*

I decided to reinstall Hermes 222/223 and double check what I was doing as I went along. I used the v4 cIOS installer.

249 is installed and works great. 222 was installed as a merge of 37 & 38.
    223 as merge of 60 and 38.

    37 is rev 3612
    38 is rev 3610
    60 is rev 6174

I can take any game that works with 249, change it to use 222 or 223 in USB Loader GX settings and it ceases to work.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions please ?

    Thanks

you should leave your other games to run with 249, then set 222/223 with only the games that need it. 222/223 has better support for things like dual layer games.

Yes, but the point I was making was that games that work with 249 don't appear to work with 222 or 223... Is Hermes cIOS supposed to work like that ?

I assumed not, and was using to it say that my 222/223 was broken in some way...

Or have I got the wrong end of the stick ?

You need the latest version of GX, earlier versions of GX are not compatible with Hermes cIOS installer v4. Did you try re downloading the Hermes installer or even reformatting your SD or using a different SD. I saw someone report that he used IOS222 and usb Loader GX to boot all his games. I use Configurable Loader with IOS222 (installer v4) and all works well. It's not a problem with the Hermes IOS222, more than likley something is not right on your end.

Did you remove the GC controller and GC memory card if you have one, I forgot and left mine plugged in and it still worked.

Maybe the Hermes IOS222 is not compatible with your HDD.

If the games work with 249 then dont worry about using 222/223....
I only use 222/223 for the exceptions (eg. Guitar hero 5)

Particularly what games are not working for you? cISO, scrubbed of full iso? I think i can relate to your problem.

Family Feud and The Price is Right were not working for me. In an effort to make these games work, i did the following:

    1. Updated my USB Loader GX to rev 778
    2. installed hermes 222 and 223 v4
    3. Used DOP IOS to update my IOS 38,53,55 and 56
    4. Tried all the configuration settings (anti 002 fix, 002 fix on, etc)

Still, i get a black screen. Please take note that i initially downloaded cISO files.

What i did was to download scrubbed copies and used WBFS Intelligent Gui to convert to cISO files. Guess what? It finally works!
Bootmii installed as Boot2 and with NAND backup
    System Menu 4.1U, HBC 1.03, Preloader 0.29, cIOS38 Rev17, USB Loader GX
1TB Western Digital MyBook Essential Edition, partitioned as 1TB Fat32
Downloading Scrubbed ISO and converting them to WBFS files using Wii Backup Manager

Why don't you try using Configurable USB Loader, just to see if IOS222 works with that loader. If it works with that loader then I would say that you may have a problem that is not related to the Hermes installer v4. Wiiflow 1.1 and uLoader can also use Hermes IOS222 v4, too.
