    4.1 update help?

    hey everyone

i havent been on the forums for a while and tried to search to see if other peoples posts could help me out but i failed to find any.

i was wondering if its possible to update from a 3.3 hack to a 4.1 hack? or if i should just stay at the 3.3? either one better than the other as a hack? i know the 4.1 you can run wiiware off the sd but is it better just to stay at the 3.3 hack or is the 4.1 hack better? also is there a wad or something to make the wii channel/store work again for the 3.3 if the 4.1 isnt as good?

    any info is appreciated. thanks

For 3.3/3.4 Wiis, it would be better to upgrade. Follow this softmod tutorial, as you have already softmodded your Wii; you can start from Step 4-upgrade using FW4.1-your existing softmods will not be overwritten. After upgrading, you can add the brick protection of preloader. Read through the steps carefully. Also check all the steps to see if there are any updates you might need. The softmodpack download provides all the softmod components. Best of luck.

If all you want to do is upgrade to 4.1 then this will take care of your upgrade: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...l-working.html

If you update to 4.1 using the Nintendo online updater, your existing softmods, HBC, etc are going to be lost. All the links that ShadowSonic and I provided use Waninkoko's firmware update in order to preserve your softmod and HBC. Choose one of the tutorials we linked to and follow the steps. Your choice depends on the extent of updating you wish to perform.
