    A Few Soft Mod Questions

Hey guys... I have had a soft mod wii or over a year now and everything works pretty good....

I do have a few questions though and I was hoping someone could help....

    1) I haven't ventured into online gameplay since I softmodded.... I was informed that playing online with a ripped game could screw your system. Is this true? is there any downside to playing online with a ripped game?

    2) While Wiibrew suggests not updating and not leaving Connect 24 on, is there a way to update the Wii using Nintendo's updates and having access to the store and Weather channel? Is there any downside to updating with Homebrew already installed? Any downside to leaving Connect 24 on?

    3) I have been hesitant to download Wii Motion Plus games? Is there any special files needed before attempting to play these games?

    4) I get the feeling that I am getting several wii games for birthday / christmas..... Will my soft mod affect these legit versions of the game?

Thanks for your patience and answers in advance....

    1. Never had any problems.
    2. Again Ive never had any problems with the store etc, I believe if you used CISOCORP you might have issues with official updates.
    3. Nope, but you do need a motion plus and to be on 4.1 of the official firmare or an approximation therof.
    3. Shouldn't do unless you've done something really, really odd.

    1) Playing online with a soft mod will not do anything to your wii

    2) I have my wii connect24 on and never had a problem, people suggest leaving it off incase nintendo puts out a system menu update you cannot just cancel.

    3) no special files for wii plus games

    4) They can if the games have updated IOS files never update from a disc ever

So just to clarify, as long as I have not used CISOCORP (which I haven't) I should be able to update thru Nintendo's official updates?

yes, but you should always check on wiihacks before you do, as someone will likely post if there is anything special to do, or anything that will break.

Basically, let someone else who is brave/stupid/weird try it first

Yes, But just use Wakininko's 4.1 update program. I used it and it worked perfectly fine for me. Just do a google of Wakininko.
