Wii game backup to USB HDD question.

I have NeoGamma to play my games and I see an option to play from HDD. I look for something that can save games from actual games I already have to my HDD through the Wii. I see USB Loader GX which does that, but it also plays the games, right? At that point do I need NeoGamma? Should I just use USB Loader GX?

You can use usb loader for both dumping and playing games, neogamma is mainly for dvd launching. also you can dump games directly from the iso from your pc to the HDD with WBFS manager

Yeah, so basically just need USB Loader GX then? No need for the NeoGamma if I am running ISOs from HDD.

I use WBFS manager 3.0 on PC to setup my USB hdd and rip wii games to it.

About the USB loader GX.. i dont know the software. But you should do just fine with it.

I use WiiFlow as usb loader, it displays the games you have on you USB HDD as a line up of 3D covers, if your wii is setup to use the internet aswell, it can download the Box Art for the covers for you directly.

how do you dump games to the usb hdd with usb loader gx?

also what is the difference between installing a game (the button on the left in usb loader gx) and just playing it by clicking on the disc image that pops up when clicking on a game in the list?

WBFS 3.0 is great to setup (format and prep) the HDD for transfering ISO's from the PC to the HDD and it will get rid of all the "junk" that make majority of the Wii games 4.5GB. Out of the 80+ games that I have on my HDD, the size of games are between 0.3GB - 3.78GB, with the average size being 400MB - 600MB.

As for the application on the Wii, I use Configurable USB Loader (Sorry, forgot the version). Very simple app, very plain jane GUI, but effective all the same. I would still like to figure out how to fix my NeoGamma R7 issue, but with buying a dedicated external HDD and getting everything to work with it, the issue has kind of gone down the priority list. LOL.
