Now I am confused...........I purchased Wii in Mar 2009. it was having 3.3 U than I updated to 3.4 and now 4.1 U. It means i can not use as Boot 2 right ?

If I use as IOS how can I access without game cube controller, first I need to purchase it than use it...

How I can check Wii is post Oct 2008 or Pre 2008.

For example, I installed it as Boot 2 than use as you instructed than after back up what files I need to keep in secure place as I told you earlier that there are other applications on SD card as well.

    Thanks

    Probably not no.

Don't buy a GC controller for IOS bootmii, it's not really worth it, at least for the time being.

When running the hackmii installer it will tell you how it can install bootmii, boot2 or as IOS you don't need to worry about selecting the wrong thing really.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

Bootmii is smart enough to know if it can be installed on Boot2 or not. Just try it. If you do not have the option to load it on Boot2 only as an IOS Bootmii will tell you. No guess work required.....

What about the files which need to be keep secure for future use. Means what would be the files which will save on my SD (having other files as well).

I want to save Back up of NAND after using Boot Mii in my computer and external hard disk as well. So which files I need to copy from SD for secure location.

Boot2 creates a folder called bootmii, so all that should be kept.

Also if you create a NAND backup it'll save it as nand.bin and depending on which version you might also get one called keys or something similar, save thsat too.

I tried but it is showing "Due to current Boot 1 you can only install BootMii as IOS (-2). So it means I can not install Boot Mii as Boot 2.

So it means I can not take NAND Back up.
Is there a way to take backup by using IOS without using GC controller.

I guess it did not worth to purchase New GC controller as instructed.

Oh you can still back up your nand. The problem is restoring it if you toast the Wii.

Should people worry about the "Factory bad block marker at block ####" messages or is that normal?
