i know a lot of people dont like it but personally, it has enabled my

    1) to play most of my games thru the disc channel

    2) play metroid prime 3 (DL Disc) previously didnt work in neogamma 7

    3) play Gamecube games (by installing option extras in the cIOScorp installer)

so im quite happy with it, each to their own i suppose

I've got v3.4 and I'm able to play GC games through the disc channel although I didn't install the extras, wonder why that is, possibly because I previously had v1.0 installed?

    Smile cioscorp 3.4 compatibility

    Hi There All,

Just wondered if anyone can help me. I followed Doggeggs guide to softmodding my wii to the letter and all is working fine. I have neogamma 7 working as a channel and have got GH5 and Rock Band Beatles working via the disc channel.

All other games can only be loaded via neogamma 7 channel.

Is it possible for me to install the cioscorp 3.4 package, and get all the games to run via the disk channel, or will it just brick or mess up my Wii.

I have bootmii 2 as an ios and preloader installed.

Thanks for your help, and please don't grill me for being a noob!!!!!!

If you are determined to play your disc backups from the disc channel, get a chip or hardmod. cIOSCORP installation involves replaced all the core IOSes of the Wii; a move counter to the softmod you just completed during which minimal changes were made to the Wii.

Without bootmii installed as boot2, you are inviting disaster with cIOSCORP with few options to help you. There are only a few experienced cIOSCORP fans on this site in a position to assist you in the event of a problem. Don't do it. If you can't live with a loader, then install a chipmod.

Thanks for that. I didn't think it would be easy, ha ha. Loading via neogamma is no problem, but as I can load GH5 and RB Beatles via the disc channel I just thought I would ask.

Cheers for the quick reply, you guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!!

You messed up your Wii through improper use. This point is justified by the fact that you made a choice to download the files and you chose to take whatever action you performed to brick/disable/gimp your console. It likely wouldn't have happened if you had read all the included documentation before experimenting with something you didn't understand.

I guess its one of these things cIOSCORP is like marmite, you either love it or hate it. I have had no problems installing v3.4, all went well, games play fine, though the Bootmii must be installed before cIOSCORP as unless you want to replace iso's as you cannot install after!

I would not install cIOSCORP without having a backup though as if something does go wrong there is little or no chance of fixing your new house brick :-)

One problem i did have though was i used a sd card that was not a sandisk card and i ended up with a ecc error on my nand, I fixed that by formatting wii, then using safeupdater 4.2 and restoring an old backup, then reinstalling cIOSCORP 3.4 using a true sandisk sd card.

I would stongly advise (as everyone here have already pointed out) do not use a cheap "clone" sd card... it will lead to tears, divorce and the dog eating you dinner!
