To be honest, I got no clue. I changed the settings early to boot up to HBC and not system menu, so I never figured out what where and when messed up the system menu..

you probably installed sth and caused the brick, no system settings changes would cause a brick

Never said it was changes to system settings that caused the brick, I installed all the IOS and such according to a tutorial so I could use the usb loader, and that part works.. But somehow I bricked the system menu.

    And STH is ?

Since you can get in to the homebrew channel get wad manager 1.5 and system menu was 3.4. Install that wad and you will be good to go

no sane man would ever install it because it messes wii up irriversibly nad it generally sucks.. it changes all the ioses of the wii (all of them).
if you want to stay away from trouble, stay with the cioses and leave the ioses alone

Instead of installing a program that fucks up my wii I used Waninkoko's system menu patcher so i could play backups from my disc channel.

Ah i see another Cioscorp hater, all because you are scared to give it a try, you do know that ciose's can screw up your wii just as much as ioses can, there is also a Cioscorp un-installer now. if you have preloader and bootmii there is no worries at all, how can it suck when its the easiest method of playing backup games?
