    essential cIOS for USB Loader GX

    There's a sentence that says :
    STAND READY TO DO VIOLENCE ON THEIR BEHALF IF THEY DON'T INSTALL IOS 38, 53, 55.

    I followed this great tutorial:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-any-wii.html

    Also I read:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...explained.html

    Both talk only about

    38 -> IOS249
    ?? -> IOS222

    What about 53 and 55 ?
    53 -> ??????
    55 -> ??????

    I'm asking because I'm having some issues with USB Loader GX (exception errors) and I would like to know if the problem is related to the lack of 53 and 55.

    Finally, how can I see all the installed cIOS on my wii (only cIOS, not IOS) ?
    It would be nice to have a homebrew application to list the current installed cIOS.

    Thanks.

    Thanks!

    cIOS and IOS are different.

    IOS is a Nintendo released layer of software, in this case IOS 53 and IOS 55 come packaged on some newer games released in the last 6 months to a year or so.

    cIOS is a homebrew modified custom IOS changed to perform certain functions.

    The lack of 53 and 55 should not provide exception errors but a poorly installed cIOS might.

    The reason that is most likely why you got a exception DSI is

    You do not have any favorites selected in USBLGX

    if u dont set favorites and then choose the star it throws a DSI.

    cIOS 38 Rev 14 is the only cios u need as cios222 is used for Rockband and isnt properly supported by USBLGX. (does not support MLOAD).

    Favorites ?
    I don't choose any star to run a game. I just click the title, then I click the moving disc and I get the exception.

    I also get the error when I go to settings, and then go back, this time not a DSI, but a "Program Exception"

    I know I have correctly setup cIOS 38 Rev 14, because usb loader is detecting the USB, and even ripping games from DVD.

    Can you explain a little more about the "favorites" solution ?

    Thanks.

    You might want to check the version of USB Loader GX that you are using and check the google site for the application to see if your revision has any known problems. Below is the site:

    can I install cios 53 and 55 via Wad installer ? if so, it asks me to select a IOS, should I select 249 ?

    Is Wad installer also for CIOS or only for channels ?

    Do I have to use an special app for installing cIOS ?

    IOS 53 and 55 can be installed using Wad Manager with IOS249.

    cIOS, such as cIOS38rev14 tend to come with their own installer which is basically just like a cut down wad manager but just for one file install.

    I read every post in this thread and no one told mysticav to install IOS38, 53, 55, you will need them to play newer games and wiiware. The reason why we install these is because they come with disc updates and normally we avoid disc updates, therefore you will have to install them manually.

    NeoGamma will show you which cIOS is currently installed. You will only have one version of the cIOS on your wii at once, any version of cIOS will overwrite the current one, no need to uninstall or delete anything.
