    switching ios from 249 to 222 !

i have the seagate freeagent 1.5TB and yes i know it's very buggy and poor quality , it's the only external HDD i have right now so ... cant complain .anyway , i've been struggling these past 2 weeks on how to get it works but so far , not very possitive result . sometime it does , sometime it doesnt . the thing is like it has a mind on its own . it works whenever it feels like , freeze the the console whenever it doesnt feel like it .anyway , i read on the usb compatitbility list that it works under ios 222 . i just wonder how do i make this switch . i have 4.0 system menu with cios38 rev 13b right now and it's all installed under ios 249 . what do i need and where shoud i start . thx in advance .

Download GX Loader Forwarder, it is available as a attached file to Softmod for Dummies in tutorial section. Follow instructions and install to SD card where program runs from, when you launch program go into settings and you can select which cIOS you want to load for each game either 249 or 222.

    Hope this helps.

    Hermes_cIOS_installer.rar

That's hermes installer. I've never used it. It's possible you'll need the ios36/7/8 wads. Which can also be found in Dogegg's dump. http://www.mediafire.com/wedump

I have a free agent, i also had this problem.

Whats happening is that the hard drive is going into sleep mode.

You can download a copy of "Seagate FreeAgent Tools" and disable the sleep timer.

    What size? What cios?

I would normally ask if you changed which port it was plugged in to. With, if you're looking at it from behind, standing up, USB slots on top, would have the Power+data on the right, and Power USB on the left. But I know you've already seen the thousand threads where people say their hard drive doesnt work then post 30mins later saying "oh i switched the port and it works now." So i wont even bring that up.
