    @igotstrings,
    that's what the usb loaders do - a popular one is USB Loader GX (you can read up and choose). After properly installed and working it copies your Wii game disc onto your external USB HDD.

    Topline checklist for you: Homebrew Channel, lastest cIOS, USB Loader, WBFS Manager 3.0, backuploader like Neo Gamma. Looks like to play ISOs off the HDD instead of a backup disk that cIOS 38 rev 14 and NeoGamma R7 work well together.

    it saves so much time and hassle. personally i use CFG usb launcher (cant get coverfloader to work, but it looks cool :P), dumping a game takes anywhere from 45seconds to about 20 minutes.

    Yeah I noticed it can take awhile for some games. Its taking me about 15-20mins each for the two I just did. I guess it won't be so bad if I only do new discs that way but if I have to transfer several at once I guess the best thing to do is connect it directly to the pc. Hopefully Wifi data transfer comes out soon. I'd like to just set it and forget it

    thanks folks for the advice!

    I'm using usb loader gx. Works awesome. My transfer rate is about 2MB/s with dvdr or 4MB/s with retail discs. Is that normal? Anyway to tweak it or is it that the wii's dvd drive is at its limit already?
