Freezing when playing from Hard Drive

I have a 4.0 soft modded wii I use usb loader gx to play games off of an external HD... Any games I try to play freeze in the middle of game play. Does anyone know why this happens?

Hard Drives sometime spin down as part of their energy management but I'm not sure if that woiuld be it if it just stops in the middle of something.

All of my iso's came from a guy on wiiso.com the HD has its own power source the sizes range from 1gb to 4GB depending on the game. I read somewhere that not all hard drives are recognized by the Wii I just used an old 160GB HD that used to be in my PC, and I purchased a HD enclosure from ebay. Is it possible that the enclosure itself is not compatible and causing the problem? If I remember correctly the HD itself is a seagate. The enclosure is non name brand. What do you think?

It seems that the interface device (in your case the enclosure) is what determines whether the USB loader will work or not and not the make of hard drive.

The enclosure list on [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] shows around a 50% failure rate across those submitted. Seems very hit and miss.

ya i agree with tealc.. more then likely its the enclosure! but then again.. i have an enclosure that is on the list sayin it wont work but it works great for me.. but then again if the games are loading and its just freezin in middle of gameplay i would think that its bad iso's but maybe not!
