according to the readme it tells me to 'Run the installer and select "WAD Installation"' whatever that means. I usually install WADs via HBC's Wad Installer--I can't get it to run the Installer. Maybe I just have them in the wrong directories? Do I have to uninstall 249 first? What apps do I use to do all this? Also, keep in mind I'm running this off a disc--not via USB HD. Come to think of it, my Gamma Backup Loader doesn't look too current. I'll look into this.

any way someone could walk me through this. unfortunately I'm in a hurry because I have to go somewhere tonight and I wanted to get this up and running beforehand so I don't have to deal with it Sunday night.
OK after doing this and installing these files you will need to restart your wii before playing another game.

The files you downloaded. copy these to the SD card. run the homebrew channel and install cios it will be listed on the homebrew channel.

i think you will need gecko's backup loader latest revision to play if your not running of a hdd.

After testing i can report that the game runs using only the following.

    Cios rev13a
    usbloader GX rev 501

in usb loader you must set force ntsc and vid with 002 fix.

i have yet to find a backup launcher for disks that will work, you may need to try various ones.

    Hope this helps guys

I have the newest version of Gecko but it didn't work. Obviously I need to try installing the cios first so I'm going to try it again. I just never got the 'cios installer' to appear in the homebrew channel. all I've got from my previous stuff is 'cIOS downgrader'.

I usually run my games with NeoGamma R2 IOS249 (Rev9) if that helps. Should I upgrade?

I installed cios38 rev13a nor porblems to report yet, i loaded backup launcher 0.3gamma with 002 fix and green screen, i then used the usb loader GX and changed the settings to force vid, with 002fix and started the game, and it works.

Cant report any other issues as yet as not fully tested. if your using backup launcher 0.3gamma with 002 fix, you may need to force NTSC. and it may work. i will try and post an update shortly after more testing.
do you "need" tohave a usb drive to use the usbloader? or can I still load games via dvd using usbloader

Sorry, I'm a dork. I realized that once I installed the new cios (i forgot to rename the .dol file to boot.dol) NeoGamma shows as Rev 13... and Ghostbusters ran just fine... as did the other games I tested and have played before. Thanks a ton for guiding me through this! I enjoyed the metal music while i was in the installer.

    Hey Mumbles,

I have been using backup launcher v3b. Always running from a disc. Are you doing the same with running these games from a dvd? If that is the case can you walk me through the process? Step by step would be great. If there is a problem can I revert at anytime by over-writing the rev file? Can I have the backup launcher and this NeoGamma that you have mentioned? Thanks!

yeah i'm doing the same to my knowledge. it worked under gamma (which i believe is the most current version .3b) i didn't set anything to force any type of video mode. all i did was install the cios then shutdown and turned the wii back on and ran it using gamma (which should say rev 13 now).

    - Place the cIOS38 installer folder in the APPS folder on your sd card (it should be named boot.dol if inside this folder, otherwise it won't work)
    - Copy IOS38-64-v3610.wad to the root of your sd card
    - Launch the cIOS installer from the HBC and choose WAD installation
    - It'll ask you for the new IOS you want to install, it should default to the IOS38 rev 13
    - Install, after it's complete it'll allow you to restart
    - Shutdown wii when it brings you back to the HBC. Turn it back on and open up Backup Launcher and run with auto settings (mine is installed as a channel.) Should work!

Yeah, I'm not sure it was showing up as NeoGamma but the application is actually called Gamma Backup Launcher. That's the full title. I never tried Gecko with Ghostbusters yet.

Thanks Mumbles. Can you direct me to the files I need. Perferably not torrent sites. Good ol' rapidshare, megaupload, mediafire etc. would be awesome!

Thanks for the help. I am dying to play some Ghostbusters. By the way, how is it buddy?
