    usb hard drive enclosure problems

here is the situation. using coverflow rc6 for my loader. hard drive is seagate baracuda 320gb. menu is 3.2U.

I have had everything working fine with the HD in my cavalry HD dock. I decided to buy an enclosure to make set up nice and need. I tried the rocketfish SATA hard drive enclosure kit. It is basically a HD enclosure + card reader + usb hub.

for some reason the wii does not recognize the WBFS drive???? I plugged into computer to use my WBFS GUI and it reads all the backups on the drive and alows me to copy back and forth from computer. any ideas if I can fix this or should I count this enclosure as a no go and try another one out? I have searched for a compatability for enclosures and wii and found nothing.......

My guess would be that the built in USB hub and Card reader is the problem.
It is too much for the Wii to take on at this time.
Check to see if it can be by passed.

That is what I figured. I do not know enough about the circuitry to be able to by-pass those functions.... after I posted I did a google search and found this USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp

on this site they have a usb compatability list.. the one I have does not work.... teaches me to read before I buy something...

I use the Eagle enclosures from Egghead.
Their cheap and do the job.

    Good Luck.....
