To determine which System Menu you need check the list at Wiibrew System Menu - WiiBrew

I have a limited selection in my signature, while Dogeggs has some others.

    Good luck.

But, how does one get cboot2 on to a bricked wii?

You can only do it if you have bootmii as boot2 installed before you bricked, unfortunately that's the way brick protection works atm.

Ok i used cboot to load wadmanager and tried installing ios and system menus that matched via link you gave. i managed to get homebrew installed via wad but everything loaded red and black rather than black and white ie (wad manager/ homebrew) but bootmii loads as normal.
I messed about with other ios and system menus and lost homebrew.

now for some good news!!! it doesnt make sense but this is what happened.

1: I backed up my corrupted nand using bootmii to sd card.
2: I then restored my nand using bootmii!
3: I loaded cboot2 and wad manager 1.5gc (link above in my earlier post)
    4: I installed cIOSv9 wad using wad manager1.5gc
5: I installed homebrew channel wad using wad manager 1.5gc
6: I then replaced the armboot file in the cboot bootmii folder on my sd card with the one from my backed up bootmi folder armboot (copy and paste over)
    7: Loaded bootmii.
8: tried to load homebrew. NO video or audio signal.
9: I then replaced the armboot file in the bootmii folder on my sd card with the one from my backed up cboot2 folder armboot (copy and paste over)
10: I replaced boot.dol on my sd card (the cboot one) for homebrew 0.9 boot.dol file
11: turned on wii booted to cboot which then tried to install homebrew 9 beta? using gcube controller.
12: Homebrew could not detect a system menu! so failed to install.
13: swapped homebrew boot.dol file on sd card for boot.dol from wadmanager 1.5 gc.
    14: Loaded wadmanager 1.5 gc.
    15: TOOK A GAMBLE!
16: installed ios30-64-1040.wad. using gc wad manager 1.5
17: installed system menuv290.wad using gc wad manager 1.5
    18: rebboted ................................... NOTHING!
    19: READ 6 above.
20: loaded bootmii, tried home brew. no audio or video.
    21: READ 10.
22: loaded cboot which then installed homebrew channel 9 beta using gamecube controller .
23: homebrew installed as cios or ios 249.
    24: READ 6.
25 : Loaded bootmii loaded homebrew (p.s) everything (wad manager homebrew still red and black instedad of blue hb and black and white wad manager)
    homebrew shows beta9 IOS35.
26: made an apps folder on my sd card.
27: put neogamma 6 boot.dol in apps on sd card (google it) one you have to access via homebrew((not a wad)) it has message on bottom of screen when loaded neogamma R6, IOS249 (REV9)
28: load games and backups via neogamma 6 by disc usb or sd.
29 : still got no system menu ie wii wont load without bootmii and games cant be played unless use homebrew/neogamma.

I am not going to attempt anything else for the time being unless of course, i get some more genius advice from wiihacks!!!
my brick thanks to telac99/bootmii/ cboot2/ waninkoko and many more genius people out there:- is not a wii! its a red menued homebrew that plays wii games!!!!!!

what is needed is a universal unbrick disc that supports gamecube controller.

IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT!
IF ITS SORT OF BROKE TRY TO FIX IT!
IF IT BREAKS SOME MORE THEN TRY SOME MORE!
IF ITS DEAD READ UP ASK QUESTIONS & LISTEN!
IF ITS SORTA FIXED THEN ACCEPT THAT AND LEAVE ALONE!!!!

    Thanks for all your help.
I just hope that this method can be used for all the wiis with bootmii installed as boot2.

I've heard of HBC being red before, I think it was something to it using a different IOS to run.

Maybe a list of IOS in use with versions might help. Use DOP-IOS and load through HBC. I'm running a 4.0 system and have all my IOS versions listed, maybe with this information we can highlight the defective IOS.

    I downloaded dop ios v7.

loaded via homebrew (line 1 at top of screen/ line 2 left hand side of screen/ line 3 right hand side of screen/ line 4 from left to right of screen/)
    and got below:
    DOP IOS (DOWNLOAD-PATCH-INSTALL) V7
Select Ios you want to dop << IOS 36 >>
    Currently installed (None)
USED BY: SUPER BROS BRAWL. MARIOKART WII can be ES_identify patched.

    Left/Right: Select Ios
    A: Install latest v3094 of IOS36
    -: Install old v1042 of IOS36
    Home: Exit
    .................................................. .................................................. .................

So am i correct in saying that i dont have a IOS installed? even though i installed IOS30-64-v1040.wad using wad manager 1.5 gc (which installed ok)
then i installed System menu-v290.wad using wad manager 1.5 gc (which installed ok)

I NEARLY LOADED MY WADS AND WAS READY TO BE TRIGGER HAPPY!! BUT THIS TIME I MANAGED TO RESIST THE TEMPTATION, HARD AS IT WAS! LOL!!!!!

Did installing homebrew via boot.dol using cboot2 delete my IOS????
or do games load via the motherboard on the dvd drive as something is running the games!
I really havent got a clue, but am willing to give things a go if prompted,
I can live with my RED wii game playing Brick!! but it would be interesting to find a solution.
    Thanks again!

Forgot to mention, i could not use dop IOS with gamecube contoller, maybe this was a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have IOS36 v3890 which is strange considering what dop-ios told you. Maybe it's tied into the System Menu version you are using.

The only Not Installed I have are 56 and 57. On 4.0E.

What was the version of IOS 30 you had?

    i installed IOS30-64-v1040.wad followed by system menu-290.

I thought that dop IOS was telling me that i had no IOS installed.

as on the dop IOS screen it said on the right hand side of the screen currently installed NONE?

homebrew is showing IOS 35, homebrew beta9

neogamma is showing IOS 249 (rev9)

wad manager 1.4 is showing selected IOS 249

THE ONLY OTHER WADS I INSTALLED BEFORE THE IOS30-64-1040 and system menu 290
where Ciosv9 wad and homebrewchannel.wad i read that to install the homebrew wad that i needed to install Ciosv9. this didnt work and i had to install homebrew using boot.dol via cboot2

as i said earlier i am happy to leave or am willing to delve further!!!
at a point in time i had upgraded from 3.2 to 4.1 then attempted to downgrade to 3.2 using a 290wad that i got from a torrent. this is not the 290wad i have now.
Im wondering if the 290wad that i got from a torrent was laced with poision!!!!

    once again thanks!!

It could have been a bad wad, that would have given you a Opera error message. You must forgive me but I can't recall all the details of your brick, it's bene going on a while now.

Dop-ios allows you to cycle through all your IOS you have installed and see which versions you have. I was hoping this might shed some light on what.

Hmm if you picked up a bad wad and attempted a downgrade you could theoretically be still at 4.1, with some of the things you did since the banner brick complicating things.

Cycyle through your IOS, note the versions and if you like PM me, maybe that will help.

I really feel stupid but i cant find a DOP IOS that will let me cycle through my ios.
all the ones ive tried only work with wiimotes.
unfortunately i can only use wiimotes when i launch games, so i need a dop ios with gamecube support.

    thanks again in advance!!!!!

Ok perhaps dop-ios is no good. There was another that I saw in use on here yesterday, forget waht it was but there's something called title_lister which might be it, not sure if that's wiimote controlled.
