Problem with backup launcher after Lu64 fix

I posted this on the original lu64 fix article but I think nobody's reading that anymore. Okay...so I tried the fix today and it worked like a charm (after initially giving a ret-1 error). Now I can run wads and have installed the gamma loader channel! Problem now is none of my 2 backed up dvds will run from the backup channel - they both give me a code dump. I tried gecko os and it said 'error: no dvd' for both dvds as well. Whereas my original Wii sports disc loads fine on both gamma and gecko.

Given that mine is a LU64 wii is there anything else I need to do to get my dvds to run or is it just a case of bad burn (Moser Baers at 2x!)? I followed the instructions exactly as mentioned in the readme file of the lu64 fix (apart from having to use custom wad manager to install the first wad - as other people have mentioned before).

What I had to do in my setup (I had the same problem), is go into HBC and re-run the Hackmii set. It contains HBC, BootMii, and DVDx. I had to install DVDx from the HackMii set because no other installer for DVDx would work (kept giving error messages).

The moment I did this, everything began to work for the backup loader and for GeckOS

Hmmm...I actually found out later that both my backups were bad burns and I haven't tried the backup loader since cos usb loader has been working for me.

I will give this a try though if my backup cds dont work in future. Thanks for sharing your experience.

How did you get back to the option (forgive my n00b question, I've been asking a lot of them lately) to install DVDx. I have the Hackmii set, but I didn't install DVDx the first time. Now when I reload bootmii, I can't get back to the same spot where I originally saw the option to install DVDx.
I'm glad Google doesn't charge me by the hour to use their service. Sheesh!

You can move the boot file into APPS/hackmii/ then run it from HBC. Once there, you can tell it to (un)install DVDx
