I had the same problem, so what I did was format my Wii...

What I mean is go into your "Wii Settings" and select "Format Wii System Memory"... What this will do is, it will restore your Wii to the day you first got it with what ever System Firmware you have on it now... So, if you have 4.0, it will erase any saved files and restore all ios and Wii channels for 4.0.

After you format, the problem should be fixed...

    Hope this helps...
Thx for your info man, but i still get that black screen, and i cant go any farther. I formatted it again, (the first time i copied my old save files back again), this time i didn't and still got the same result.

What could be my problem, im about to go out of my mind now

Thanks for your answer, I am a noob on this things, but i've been reading a lot lately, I am about to do this on my Lu65 Wii, it came with 3.4U, but Silently during the night it updated to nintendo 4.00U official. Since then I've done nothing to it. I will be reporting you it goes. Just one more thing, could you explain me a little more of step #9?
    Thanks

Save the BootMii Folder from the SD card to your PC... When you finish installing everything, you copy the BootMii Folder back to your SD card so you can use it...

    Hope this helps...

Try using different SD cards because I have done more then 10 Wii's now with LU64/65 and I have 3 Wii's I had the same problem as you with the black screen... Even when I formatted them just like how I told you and some worked but these 3 didn't... But, once I used a different SD card, it worked for me...

If this doesn't work for you then I don't know why that is happening...

    Hope this helps...

Found this on gbatemp, some people are having success with it so it is worth trying It uses wiigators cboot2 to run a special wad manager that in turn you can use to install the LU64/65 fix. [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register]

1: Copy contents of 'SD Card 1' to SD card.

2: Put card in Wii and go to Data Management > channels > SD Card, then you will get a message saying "Load boot.elf? Select 'Yes'.

3: Install Bootmii v2 as an IOS.

    4: Install the Homebrew Channel

5: Remove SD card and save the Bootmii installation to your PC.

6: Delete Bootmii installation off of your SD card and copy contents of 'SD Card 2' to your card.

7: Now put card back in, restart your wii ,start HBC, press home then run Bootmii.

8: The screen will be black for 10 seconds then Wad manager will run.

9: Select uninstall first then install IOS16.wad and do the same for LU64.wad.

10: Go to HB channel and run cIOS38_rev12-Installer.

11: Done, now you can install a backup loader or usb loader.

guide orig posted by flavors, i just made it a bit (lot) more user friendly
I'm a real noob to this, but my question is where do we download the backup loader from?

Dogeggs, step 10, which IOS number do I select? I tried IOS36 and IOS38, both failed with error -2011.

    Update: Problem solved.
What did you do to give you this awesome update of "Problem solved?" That's where I am now, and I've been messing with this thing for several days. Boohoo.

I actually misread what he had success with... I'm not that far. My failures start in step 9, not 10. I don't have an option to "uninstall" that I can tell. When I attempt to install IOS16.wad I get the following:

    Code:
    Opening "IOS16.WAD", please wait... OK!

    Installing WAD, please wait...
           >> Installing title... ERROR! (ret = -1035)

    Press any button to continue...

NEVERMIND... it appears that for 3 days now I have been an idiot.

--- Now that I got that pesky step 9 complete, I no longer trust myself with ANYTHING. So, perhaps you could help me with these queries...

CIOS38_rev12 to IOS249 or IOS253? Does it matter?

Any recommendations for a good backup loader?

Thanks for that awesomely fast response by the way.
