The patched IOS60 lets you run pirated wiiware/vc wads, install it with wadmanager, IOS downgrader downgrades your IOS to versions that have the fakesigning bug in them, just copy it to the apps directory of your SD card and run it through HB channel.

Followed instructions and downgraded after, i am now back on trusty 3.2e with softmii installed.

I installed the IOS60 thing anyway, thanks for replying though. Is there anything else I should to my Wii? Is it okay to leave it on the V4 firmware? I have tried 2 apps so far thru the HBC the first, a shooting gallery game failed to load, the second, MPlayer CE, worked fine. Should I install anything to prevent updates?

Try these steps to get HBC and cIOS249 on your Wii. DO NOT TRY THIS ON AN LU64/65 MODEL

1: Download [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register] and unpack it onto root of an SD card.

2: Put the SD card in wii, go to Wii Options, than go to Data Management > channels > SD Card then you will get a message saying "Load /boot.dol?" select 'Yes' and CMDVDX34 will run, then pick "Downgrade IOS35", let it finish its job.

4. Put the SD card in wii, go to Wii Options, than go to Data Management > channels > SD Card then you will get a message saying "Load /boot.dol?" select 'Yes' and Wad Manager 1.4 will run, use this to install IOS35-64-v1040.wad, If it doesn't work, don't worry it is already installed.

5. Restart your wii and run wad manager 1.4 again using same method as step 4 except this time select IOS35 as the one it should use and install cIOS249 rev9.wad and HBC 1.0.1.wad.

6. Done! You now have HBC and cIOS249 so all your HB should work. If you plan on staying on 4 add the [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register] and run [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register].

OK, if I understand correctly you are basically putting the system menu back to 3.2?

Any ideas for what to do with a Korean Wii? These only came out with 3.3K are are now on 3.5K. I presume that if I was to try your method I would probably brick my korean Wii?

Any thoughts?

@ Smok3y666 - You are ok to stay on 4 and if you want to block disc updates you are going to need preloader or startpatch.

@peterjung - The system menu isn't downgraded using those instructions, just adding a IOS with the fakesign bug and a cIOS. Once you have those you can pretty much do anything. I have no idea on those Korean wiis though, they are a bit of a special case!?

@doggie721 - no it doesn't, that is why is says in bold not to try it, i will go an edit it now so it says it twice and i bet someone else still tries it

I have successfully installed HBC using dogeggs method on my virgin 4.0 wii and played a few vc games but if try to access the sd card icon from the dashboard my wii locks up and i have to reboot

also if i move any vc games channels to the sd card it locks up again any ideas? thanks

also ive tryed reformatting my card a couple of times to no avail

Did you install the patched IOS60?

yes ive tryed uninstalling it and then reinstalling still the same
