I'm attempting to create a channel to launch Pikmin 2 or Super Paper Mario Wii. I have no experience with console softmodding. I used a tool to create a .WAD and installed it. When I attempt to launch, the wii states that the boot.dol could not be found. Are all files labeled boot.dol the same?
Here's a bit of info on dol files:
Boot.dol files are located THOUGHOUT the fat32 partition of an sd/usb once it starts running apps. Wiiflow normally runs out of: [sd/usb]:/apps/wiiflow/boot.dol, whereas USB Loader GX run out of: [sd/usb]:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol. Most .dols are accompanied by a <meta.xml> and an <icon.png> for visual and functional properties. Most folders you find in apps will have this setup. Look in your apps folder, make sure there IS a folder that links the WAD that you installed, creating a channel to the DOL that acually will RUN the app/channel_link.
If you find a .dol file that has not been renamed to boot.dol, try renaming it, running your app again and seeing if that fixes the problem. Which tool did you use, and does it have a proper .dol file corresponding to it's help/ [f1-keystrike]?
Right now, I'm not at home... But, I don't understand a lot of things. First, what is meta.xml? Also, I had changed my mind about running those games, I used "CRAP" to create forwarders through UsbGX and they work fine. I would just like to inject Legend of Zelda; Ocarina of Time Master Quest into the .WAD for Oot, but when I try to extract the .wad from the wii for the VC channel, it's encrypted as a .bin. I don't know what to do.
Meta.xml is actually an internet-type coded document that is used to describe the loader you're loading with similarities to HTML.

It loads short arguments and variables in order that they be loaded from another program being more of an html configurations/informations file.

Have you tried playing with the IOS versions [squared in Neon Green/Yellow], and have you tried using a different loader (Marked in Blue)
Does Z-OoT run cleanly ON the loader that you select to play it on? Honestly it continues to cause trouble, I would just use The HBC or a different Loader Channel (i.e. Wiiflow) and load the games from the loader if it works...
Are you loading a wbfs or ISO file to the program?
