How to update old Wii to 4.3U to use Tutorial here
I just bought a new wii and followed the guide here to softmod it and because it's so new i can't install bootmii as boot2 so i am going to buy a second used wii so
i will have bootmii in boot2.
My question is after i get the old used wii home to softmod it what is the best way to get it to 4.3U so i can follow the same tutorial i followed with my new wii.
I know i can get 4.3U via the console in an online update but i've read to never update via Nintendo online so i guess i need to manually do it if possible ????
If you buy an old wii that HAS NOT been modded before, you can easily update and then use the Softmod ANY Wii guide. This process is generally recommended to anyone who has a "virgin" wii (one that hasn't ever been tampered with).
PheOnix, I'm sure if you read read read the Mod any wii guide it gives you all the options to upgrade to the best 4.1 stable version whatever version you are currently at. That is why it is called MOD ANY WII. DoH!

To further help you, I'll even post a link in a few seconds as it seems you can't search the site (this is such a popular guide).
And please don't post in other people's threads - make your own (actually just search...)
EDIT: The guide is here, I found it with a google search btw
DOUBLE EDIT: You would also do well to read this:
