Why do you come here asking for help, but when it is given you dont follow it and go cowboying with your Wii and try to do a nand restore from bootmii as an IOS?

Sorry, but it eats me alive when people come here thinking they know better than the people who are here every day dealing with these issues. Stop asking for help if you are just gonna do your own thing.

    /end rant...lol

Why are you trying to restore your nand? Where in the softmod any wii guide did it say to do that?

It is not recommended to restore your nand with bootmii as an IOS.

I think the OP wants one of these:

Alright man, not trying to start flame war here. I was simply pointing out that you were told 3 times to follow the any wii guide. Then the latest post you make is about restoring your nand, which could very well cause your console to brick. No one wants to see that. Of all the people we help day in and day out, we do tend to know a thing or two lol. I did not mean to come across so harshly, but you have to understand how frustrating it is to give advice that you know will work, only to have someone not follow it and (from the chronology of the posting) attempt to do something that will more than likely result in a brick.

The konami code is built in to protect users from themselves. If you don't punch in the code correctly it will not work. That is why you could not restore your backup.

i can see that. i used to help people out on psp hacking fourms. from my experiance it would have been better to just ask "when did you try to restore?". get a detail on that part first, you know?

anyway, a konami code? explain please?

Just to make it clear, you can brick your console by trying to restore a nand backup when bootmii is installed only as an IOS. The only way to safely restore it is if you have bootmii installed as boot2.

The writers of bootmii know this, which is why they dont make it easy for you to do it. You can punch in a code to still allow it to happen, but we will never recommend that to anyone, nor provide the code itself in this forum, simply because it is a quick way to ruin your Wii!

whats the point of bootmii again? there was a point when i didn't have it at all installed to the system, just homebrew channel.

Take a look at the first link below in my sig. Bluphant has a great writeup on what exactly bootmii is.

so if i fully brink it and have to restore, its basicly anything goes. my nand was perfectly clean. no bad blocks. will that increase the chances of a successful restore if worse comes to worse?

If bootmii is not installed as boot2, then you would need to send it off to a nand programmer along with your nand backup to get it fixed. That being said, if you just follow the ANY Wii guide you will be fine! Thousands upon thousands have used it and have had no troubles. Just follow the instructions, and read the brick prevention guide in my sig. There are all kinds of safeguards put in place that help prevent bricks.
