Fox thanks for the research on this project - that bundle of images is really complete and a great find. I did some recon through that thread and it looks like another user has picked up the code and extended the application to include the latest revision of snes_9x:

    Changes -
    * Updated SNES9X GX base to version 4.1.4
    * Added option to enable to disable Cover View from settings
    * Changed folder from Images to Covers
    * Added option to change the location of the cover images
    * Fixed a small delay problem when exiting rom in List mode

Note: There will be a small delay whenever exiting a rom in Cover mode. This is normal for now and is not a bug.

... I made a small typo mistake within the default settings. Until I release a revision to fix this, please go to Settings -> Saving & Loading -> Covers Folder and add a backslash ("/") to the end. That will fix the problem with the covers not showing up. Sorry about that, and I will post a revision that will fix this (basically, add the backslash automatically)

It works perfectly and gives you the option to boot straight to the images - no more scroll down list. I had some problems with getting the images loaded properly in this revision as well as the 9.0.9 mod: About half wouldn't show up because the filesize was incompatible, and the half that did were oversized and showed up crooked. A user on that thread suggested this Batch Converter.

Once I had my images renamed properly, I loaded them on the sd card and dragged them onto that batch converter. It resized and replaced the entire group of images to the appropriate 316x224 dimensions. I think they came out really well and the app loads perfectly through my forwarder:

The exciting thing is it looks like he's planning on making these updates and changes for the game boy advance and nintendo emulators after he works on this one some more.

    Thanks again Fox, good stuff.

I created my own box art archive, thought i might as well upload it. Its about 200 games short of fox's. Its only box art, 729 games, they're named correctly. I guess that really depends on your roms, but hopefully it will, for the most part, be right for most rom sets. They are all 316x224.

    Snes Boxart 1-M -58 MB
    Snes Boxart N-Z -61.6 MB

Ok, my original archive didnt work. I think the program i used to resize and rename them, only changed the name to .png, but didnt actually fix the file. Tried again with another program, and tested them on the wii, and they work. Unfortunately the download is much bigger. Sorry to anyone the got the first one and wasted their time trying to get it to work.

This is really cool that you put some time into this venture. I've downloaded your art and was just wondering how it differs from fox's if you don't mind please?

Well, i think all his files are named 0001, and theyre seperated into folders. Mine are in one folder, and titled. I also resized all of them to 316x224, most of his are 320x240, but they vary, i did it because in the original gbatemp thread it said they had to be that size, i dont know if that matters though. Also, my archive is about 200 games short of his, 700 to 900. The main thing is that theyre titled. Alot of people want to get this working with their huge rom collections, so hopefully these will match up with them.

It really only took me about ten minutes though. So its not a big deal, i just hope they work properly.
